His mom called us down for dinner and we ate tacos. They were the best tacos I have ever had. We talked about what I needed, the rules and how long I was going to stay with them. Millers dad came home and greeted me and I talked to him about everything that happened. He wasn't to pleased, but he understood. I promised I would pay fifty dollars a month to just help out. It was easy for me to pay because I worked at the pizzeria. We finished eating and went to his bedroom. I took a shower and got into my pajamas. I put my hair in a bun and sat on his bed.

"Do you remember when it was you coming to my house?"

He turned at smiled. "Yeah, pretty crazy...isn't it."

He went to his side and got under the covers. I grabbed my pillow and comforter and made a mattress on the floor.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"Making my bed..."

"I thought you wanted to sleep with me?"

"We're not dating."

He nodded his head and put it on his pillow. "You're right."

I laid on my pillow and looked at his ceiling. I missed my warm bed and my mom. I felt like a total bitch, but I did deserve what happened.

"Grace?"

"Hm." I said softly.

He rolled over and turned to me. "Will you be my girlfriend...again?"

"Only if we make a promise to each other that we won't do what happened last time?"

He nodded and smiled. "I think I can make that work."

"Then yes...I will."

He scooted over and patted the bed. I got up and took my pillow and blanket over by him and laid down. There were two comforters and three pillows all on a queen size bed. It was hot, but I didn't care. I was with the most important guy in the world. I got comfy fast and fell asleep in his arms. Even though we were seniors...I felt as if I have been with him for a hundred years.

When I woke up he wasn't in bed. I forgot that it was Sunday and he was probably at church. I got up and walked down stairs. When I got down he was running up.

"Grace." he said. He was freaking out.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He stared at me and I didn't understand.

"Your mom is here."

"What!" I said quietly. "How did she know?"

"I'm pretty sure she would know, but she wants you to come home...now."

"No...I'm not going with her."

"Grace. You have to."

"But I don't want to...it's against my own will."

"You're only seventeen though..."

"Shit." I said. "I'll figure something out." I walked the rest of the way down the stairs and my mom was standing by the door. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to get you." she said.

"I'm not leaving." I said.

"Oh yes you are...and we will have a long talk."

"It's sort of your fault that I'm here...you told me to leave."

"Well...you listened then and you will listen now. You are coming home!"

"No."

"Yes you are. If I have to drag you out... so help me-"

"So help you what? You going to call the police?"

She stared at me and I could see that I was getting to her. I wanted her to realize that I was hurting deep down. I was tired of the bullshit that went down and I was tired of being at the same house with no one to care for me.

"Do you know what Grace...I'm done."

And she walked out.

I let go a breath and walked to Millers room. He followed me and I sat on his bed. One baby tear fell from my face and that was it. No more tears afterward. I felt like I had none left to cry.  Miller walked in a few minutes later and grabbed my hand. I just stared at the floor and didn't say anything. He rubbed my thumb and then kissed my hand.

"You have to go home Grace."

"Miller, I can't...nothing will be the same."

He nodded and walked out the room. I heard him leave the house and I slid onto the floor. I grabbed my phone and there were five messages from my mom telling me to come home. She cares and I needed to listen to them. I packed my stuff up and left. I didn't know where Miller was, but I just needed to be home.
