It was now Saturday and I was sitting on the couch reading my favorite book. My mom took away my phone so I couldn't call Miller or answer a call from him.
"I'm going out." I heard from the back of me.
"Where?" I asked.
"The store. I'll be back in an hour and you better be ready."
"Ready for what?" I turned around on the couch to face her.
"I'm taking you with me to Devon's so we can all talk it through."
I started to freak out and get confused. "Mom, I can't!"
"Well you are. He's not going to hurt you anymore. Okay?"
I nodded and bit my lip. She left the house and I ran upstairs trying to find my phone in her room. I dug through her drawers and found it. I turned it on and called Miller.
"Grace?"
"Miller...don't talk. My mom is taking me to Devon's and we are talking to his parents about what he did to me."
"How did she find out?" He asked.
"I yelled at her after she pushed you out my door. Will you come to his house just in case?"
"Of course...when?"
"An hour...I'm sorry but I have to go. I love you. Bye."
I didn't even get to hear him say that he loves me back. I turned off my phone, put it back into the drawer and went into my bathroom. I did my hair in a messy bun and went to my room. I put on my ripped jean shorts and a blue tank top. I opened some windows in the house and let the wind blow air through the house. It was such a nice day and it was about to be ruined by Devon, who I haven't talked to in a few days since everything happened. About forty five minutes later my mom walked in with some groceries.
"Grace, please help me."
"Okay," I said. My hands were shaking and I was really nervous. Once we put the groceries in the pantry we walked out the door. I stopped at the car and was about to open the door. "Mom I can't do this." I said.
"Yes you can and you are."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because, it will help everything. Plus, you then can see Miller tomorrow."
I thought about it and felt a tear roll down my cheek. I wiped it away and looked up at my mom. "Fine," I whispered.
"Let's go then," she said while opening up her door and getting in.
When I got in I turned on my station so that I could relax. I opened the window and put my arm out. When we got to Devon's, I closed the window, took a deep breath and got out of the car. I was looking for Miller and didn't see him.
"Let's go," my mom remarked.
We walked up the cement and i looked to my left and saw Miller behind the bush. I felt safe now. I nodded and he smiled a little. I knew that he was just smiling to make me feel safer, but I knew deep down he was furious. We got to his porch and my mom rang the doorbell.
"Grace!" Said Cherri. His mom answered unexpectedly.
"Hi Mrs.Calum." I replied swallowing hard.
"What are you two doing here?" She asked while shaking my moms hand.
She seemed unaware of what Devon had done to me and she seemed quite delighted to have us at her house. Most people would be shocked or anger, but Cherri wasn't.
