He got up and walked back and fourth. "Are you serious?"
"Yup,"
He put his hands on the back of his head and walked back and fourth and then wiped his face. "Aw man...this is not good...did you tell your mom?"
"No," I responded. "I just found out...you're the first to know besides me..." I felt the tears again, but I held them in.
"Are you sure you read it right?"
"Yup...here..." I grabbed my purse and unwrapped it. He looked down and turned around.
"Shit..." He said. "Grace...this is not good!"
"Well I know that!" I said. I was getting irritated.
"What are we going to do?" He asked.
"I don't know! Be parents."
He looked at me and shook his head. "Let's go," he said.
"Where?" I asked.
He grabbed my hand and left money on the table. He put me in his car and drove away.
"But my car..."
"We'll get it later," he said.
I called my mom to tell her I was hanging out with. Miller and she said she would be gone for a few hours because she had a bunch of meetings.
We drove for about ten minutes out of Barney in peace because I could tell that he was mad.
"Miller," I spoke faintly. "Where are you taking me?"
"Grace, I'm sorry but it would be great if you didn't talk." He looked at me as he said it and I looked out the window. Dark clouds were rolling in and I was beginning to worry.
"It looks like it's going to rain," I said.
"Grace!" He yelled. "Please!"
I jumped a little and put my head against the window. We were in the middle of no where. He slowly stopped the car on the side of the road. There was nothing around us. He looked straight and put his head on the steering wheel. "I'm sorry..." He whispered. "For everything...I didn't mean to yell."
"It's okay." I said. I wouldn't make eye contact and just kept looking out the window. I saw from the corner of my eye that he looked at me and then grabbed my hand. He held it and squeezed it.
"What are we going to do?" He asked. "I don't start work until next month."
"I don't know...but I have to tell my mom."
"I have to tell my parents as well," he said. "We have options you know."
When he said that I considered it, but I didn't want to do anything to the baby. "Miller!"
"I'm just saying...if it gets to hard or if you don't want to go through with it."
"Miller...I'm going through with it and if you don't want to be there...fine. I'll do it by myself."
"I didn't mean it like that." He remarked. "I'm just saying...there's adoption and we could look into that."
I put my head on the glass again and i let go of his hand. He grunted and continued to drive straight for a few minutes when we got to the town Adel. It was way larger than Barney, but I liked it.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"Visiting someone."
"Who?" I was confused and didn't know anyone in Adel. I didn't think that he knew anyone in Adel either. He just kept looking forward and was determined to get to where ever we were going. We pulled up to this old, green and blue apartment building. It looked run down. He got out and then opened my door.
