Chapter Sixteen

FOR a few seconds, Alexander just stood there. He was desperately trying to figure out if he heard her right. And if he did, did she actually mean what she just said?

Sasabihin na nga ba nito sa kambal na siya ang ama ng mga ito?

Sasabihin na nila ang totoo?

He wanted to believe it but it just felt so surreal.

"Alam ko naman na hindi na natin pwedeng ibalik ang nakaraan. Nangyari na ang nangyari. Wala na tayong magagawa dun. Naisip ko na kailangan na lang sigurong tanggapin ang katotohanan kesa sa takbuhan ko yun."

Isabel was starting to babble like she always does when she's nervous. She was not even looking at him anymore but Alexander did not move. He was listening to her every word and realized just how much he missed the woman in front of him.

"Kasi nga di ba, sabi nila, the truth will set you free? Ayoko na rin kasi ng pakiramdam na parang nagtatago ako. Na parang may lagi kaming tinatakasan nina Santiago at Luisa. I mean, they deserve better than that" she continued as she waved her hands in the air. Alexander was now looking at Isabel's face and he could not describe what it was that he was feeling.

Since he was a kid, she was his most favorite person in the world.

Six years ago, he regretted leaving her hanging after the night they shared and badly wanted to see her. He would have searched the entire country himself if he could.

Three months ago, he found out about the secret that she kept for years and he hated her for betraying him.

Yesterday, his heart nearly broke when she told him her heartaches and all the sacrifices that she has made for the twins when he left her.

Right now, he's seeing a strong woman who's practically handing him over a chance to redeem himself.

He's seeing a loving mother who, for some reason, was telling him that he will finally be a part of their children's lives.

Right now, he could not remember why he was supposed to hate her.

Right now, he wanted nothing more but to hold her in his arms and kiss her senseless.

And while Isabel was still babbling, he did just that.

WALA sa sariling napamulagat si Isabel nang biglang hapitin ni Alexander ang baywang niya and pressed her body against his. Her eyes were as big as saucers when she felt his firm mouth press against hers in an open-mouthed kiss.

Wala sa sariling napapikit si Isabel nang maramdaman niya ang paggalaw ng mga labi ni Alexander, coaxing her mouth to respond. Almost on instinct, her hands were instantly on his hair and he groaned when she pulled it as she responded to his hot kiss.

What the hell is happening?

'Well... the father of your kids is kissing you in your kitchen and you are letting him!! Oh, let me correct that. You're actually loving what he's doing and you're definitely kissing him back!' sigaw ng isang banda ng utak niya.

It took a while for the thought to register but when it did, she gathered all of her wits back and pushed Alexander's muscled chest as strong as she could.

Nagulat pa siya nang magawa niyang makawala kay Alexander at wala sa sariling umangat ang kamay niya sa mga labing nahalikan ng kaharap. She was panting as she backed away from him and Alexander was looking at her as if she grew horns.
