Cadet Karissa Lowell arrives on Star Base 12 to escape the devastating affects that have destroyed Planet Earth. The earth has been destroyed by nuclear wear, the water in polluted  by radiation, the air is practically  in-breathable,  the ground is unable to sustain plant life and grow vegetation, and the most devastating affect of all is that the fact that most if not 75% percent of the human population are now infertile due to the radiation cased by the many nuclear wars that have effected Planet Earth.

Cadet Karissa Lowell leaves earth and she boards a shuttle craft from Planet Earth along with many other young students that are going to attend   one of the Star Fleet Academies on one of the 12 Star Bases that are protected by the United Federation of Planets.

The United Federation of Planets has 12 Star Ships. They have allotted one of the 12 Star-Ships to protect each of the one Star Bases.

The Star-Ships   rotate around the Star-Base that they are to  protect and serve: however, a couple of the Star-Ships have been destroyed in battle.

The United Federation of Planets have not replaced them, so many of the existing of The Star Ships have to do double duty and orbit around two Star-Bases.

Cadet Karissa Lowell may come from the 22nd century, but she prefers the quieter era of The Regency , Victorian, and Edwardian period of The Planet Earth.

Cadet Karissa loves to sing, dance, and her heart is into Art and Humanities rather than Star Fleet  Academies boarding classes of Medical Science.

Cadet Karissa loves to sit under the tall, oak, tree that is situated on top of the hill top that overlooks Star Fleet Academy. She takes her books, music, and blanket in a basket and sits under the tall, oak tree and it is just her nature to start to sing and dance.

Karissa has no idea who is watching her from a distance and she just starts to sing from either the Carpenters or The Broadway Musical The Secret Garden.

Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud
Sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad

(*) Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last
Your whole life long
Dont worry that its not
Good enough for anyone
Else to hear
Just sing, sing a song

La la la la la
La la la la la la...

Sing, sing a song
Let the world sing along
Sing of love there could be
Sing for you and for me

When she is singing out louder and dancing in the sunlight under the blue skies of Star Base 12 she doesn't realize that anyone is watching her.  She just sings and dances and she sings out loud because this is what she was taught to do when she was just a child.

All of a sudden, Karissa hears voices calling out, "Bravo! Bravo! Encore! Encore! " and she turns around and she sees in audience from a distance  and she looks at the young men that are watching. She only smiles of one of them and it is Lt Kevin Riley.

Lt Kevin Riley walks over to Cadet Karissa Lowell and says, "Karissa. You are wonderful."

"How long have you been watching me Kevin?" Karissa asks.
