Karissa was very curious about where Lt Commander David Beck lived on the far outskirts of Star Base 12.
She dressed in one of her simple Edwardian dresses, brushed her hair, exited her room at Madame's Boarding House and she walked down the stairs and was greeted by Madame.
"Mademoiselle Karissa is going out for the evening?" Madame asks.
"Yes Madame I am going to visit a gentleman." Karissa answers.
"Who is this gentleman Mademoiselle Karissa?" Madame asks.
"Lt Commander David Beck." Karissa replies.
"Mademoiselle Karissa, please be careful." Madame asks her.
"I will Madame. Lt Commander Beck asked me to come for a visit." Karissa answers.
"Be safe Mademoiselle Karissa." Madame implores.
"I will be safe." Karissa replies and with that she opens the front door, and she walks down the stairs of the boarding house and Madame watches her walk down the sidewalk and finally outside and she closes the door.
Karissa walks down the side walk, and out of the gate and she walks down the cobble stone roads that take her on the outskirts of Star Base 12.
When Karissa finally arrives at Elmhurst Estate it reminds her of fortress. It has high walls surrounded the Estate and an entrance that has gates.
She walks up to the gate and she walks over to the intercom and a voice asks." May I help you?"
"I am Karissa Lowell. I have been invited by Lt. Commander Beck." Karissa answers.
"One minute and I will open the gate and I will tell Lord Beck that you are here. He will want to greet you personally Mademoiselle." The voice answers and the gate opens up.
Karissa walks through the gate and the driveway is long and she takes her time and sings to herself and as she does she starts to sing out loud

Karissa is singing when she is walking toward the Estate and David sees her walks towards the Estate and he also hear her sing out loud.
David just stands there and he is silent as he hears her sing and she finally reaches David and David says "What a nice surprise Karissa. I heard you singing."
"Hello David." Karissa replies, "I always sing when I am walking."
"Karissa. I would have sent my coach to you to pick you up. It must have been a long walk for you." David asks.
"I love to walk. I love the flowers, green grass, the blue skies, the song birds that sing their song." Karissa replies.
"I love the smell of the rain, I love the snow, the mountains, and every thing that the Lord and Lady have given to us." Karissa tells David, "What the big shame is that the Earth that we know is now no more due to the many nuclear wars."
"Nuclear War has destroyed the Earth, the land, the water, the air that we breathe, and many of the young men and women are now incapable of having children." Karissa tells David.
"I left Planet Earth because I know that I want a family." Karissa replies, "I don't want take any chances that the man on earth is sterile."
"Do you want a family David?" Karissa asks.
"Doesn't every man want a wife and family Karissa?" David asks.
"I can't speak for all men Karissa, but I can speak for myself." David tells her.
"I want a wife and a family Karissa." David exclaims,"I want a loving marriage. This was something my late mother was denied."
"Andrew Howard told me the same thing." Karissa replies, "I don't want my children to be pawns in the marriage game."
"Karissa, neither do I not after what I saw my late mother have go through." David answers.
"Do I have a chance with you Karissa?" David asks.
"I don't know David, we have just met each other and I do know Kevin Riley and Andrew Howard." Karissa explains, "Kevin wants to take an internship on The Enterprise."
"I know Lt Riley. He will get far on the Enterprise." David replies, "but as far as my cousin is concerned who knows."
"We can take it one day at time Karissa." David asks her.
"David, I must get through the first year of Star Fleet Academy and I want to attend the First Star Fleet Academy Dinner and Dance with Kevin Riley." Karissa replies.
"I understand Karissa, but please don't leave me out. I have noticed you sitting under the tall, oak, tree that overlooks Star Fleet Academy. I make a handsome salary, good benefits, I have two estates, Elmhurst and White Oak." David explains, "White Oak belonged to my late mother, Lady Eliza."

David points out Elmhurst Estate to Karissa. It is surrounded by a lake, plush green lawn, and flowering trees and it quite stately.
"Welcome To Elmhurst Estate Karissa. Would you like a tour of Elmhurst?" David asks.
"I would very much like that David. This is a beautiful Estate . How long has it been in your family?" Karissa asks.
"My late great grand David Edward Christopher Beck gave it to my grand-father, Lord David Christopher William Beck and he gave it to my father, Lord William Edward Beck, and when he died he left it to me." David replies.
"I see David, it is certainly grand." Karissa answers as David and she starts to walk around the Estate and he points out the gardens that are beautiful.
