Star-Date 2273.07.12, Today Karissa stands by the gate at Madame's Boarding House. She is dressed in a ivory colored Regency style dress with a shawl draped over her arms and she has a matching parasol.
She looks distant and she is thinking about her conversation with Lt. Commander David Beck.
Karissa hears a kindly voice call out to her, "Is there anything a matter Mademoiselle Karissa?"
Karissa turns around and says, " No Madame Bouiver. I am just thinking about a conversation that Lt Commander David and I have last night at Elmhurst Estate."
"What was the conversation about Mademoiselle Karissa if I may ask?" Madame Bouiver asks.
"We talked about a lot of various subjects Madame Bouiver." Karissa answers, "We talked about Florence Nightingale, Clara Barton, Queen Elizabeth the First, Queen Victoria, Queen Ann, Frances Hodgson Burnett and about world religions too." Karissa tells Madame.
"There are just some topics that far to controversy to talk about for instance religion, politics, and some even consider sex taboo too." Madame states.
"I don't find any subject controversial to talk about. It just requires an ope mind and a broad mind like my late father instructed me." Karissa replies.
"Mademoiselle Karissa, I would just be careful what you talk about with Lord Beck." Madame replies, "I don't know what his intentions are Mademoiselle."
"Madame Bouiver, Lord David has honorable intentions. I talked to him last night and he wants to us to marry, but I told him that we need time to get to know each other." Karissa replies.
"I am glad that you are so level headed Mademoiselle Karissa. You are a like the daughter I never had and hope to have when I was younger." Madame Bouiver states.
"You are very good kind Madame and I love you since you opened up your doors to me when I first arrived here on Star Base 12." Karissa replies, "This is what I told Lord David last night."
"Mademoiselle Karissa, you have the galaxy at your finger tips. There are a lot of fish in the sea." Madame states.
"Madame, I have many male friends right now. I have Kevin Riley and Andrew Howard." Karissa tells Madame.
"I really think you need to give each of these couriers a chance before you make any decisions about marrying Lord David Beck." Madame states.
"Kevin Riley is going to take his internship on The Enterprise and Andrew Howard doesn't know what he is going to do right now." Karissa tells Madame.
"Mademoiselle Karissa if I were you I would talk to Lord Andrew Howard and any other suitors that come along and give them a chance too." Madame tells her.
"Lord Andrew Howard is Lord David Beck's second cousin through his mother's side." Karissa replies.
"Mademoiselle Karissa, I know the love story about Lady Eliza Howard and the man that she really loved." Madame states, "It is a sad story and a tragic one."
