David and Karissa decided to spend the rest of their day outside in the courtyard and garden at Elmhurst Estate.

It was a beautiful late summer day actually as Autumn hadn't started on Star Base 12. It was actually late summer time; however, each Star Base is different in climate.  Some are warmer than others.

Star Bases simulate Earth's atmosphere where human life can existed since Planet Earth has been destroyed by nuclear war brought on by hateful human beings because they can't live together in peace and harmony.

So many of the young men and women that remained on Planet Earth became infertile due to their consumption of water that was contaminated by radiation. The ground can sustain vegetation, the water is contaminated by radiation.

"All the gardens have been destroyed on Planet Earth, the skies are full of radiation, and the people that remain are destined never to have children and only those that boarded The Shuttle crafts escaped the horrible fate that those that remained on  Planet Earth." Karissa explains to David.

"I decided that I didn't want to risk that so I boarded the next available shuttle craft to Star Base 12, and when I landed I saw how beautiful it was. There were gardens, flowers, streams, brooks, lakes, blue skies, and singing birds." Karissa explains, "These are most beautiful creations that the Lord and Lady have given to enjoy."

"I cry because people can't live together in peace and harmony. They nitpick at each other because of religious differences, over stupid mundane things like politics, race, creed, as if we all made from the same model." Karissa tells David.

"I just don't understand why people can't love each love just the way we are." Karissa states, "I grew up with that and I don't want our children to grow up  that way. I want them to love everyone equally."

"I am sure Karissa, that if we instruct our children and teach them well that they will  learn to love each other and other people." David tells Karissa.

"I grew up as the ugly duckling in my adoptive family. I was compared to my sisters, Anita and Laura." Karissa tells David, "One was older than me and one was younger than me. I just couldn't measure up to what my parent's wanted me to be."

"My late parent's did the same to my eldest brother, Larry. He was the oldest and they planned his life out for him from day one but when he didn't fulfill their wishes. They cast his aside and he wanted to be himself. He loved poetry, art, and writing." Karissa explains.

"Larry was blessed by the Muses of Writing, Art and Poetry." Karissa tells David.

"Larry was blessed by the Muses Clio and Euterpe." Karissa explains to David, "He loved to paint and write poetry."

"My late parent's destroyed him because he could not fulfill their dreams." Karissa tells David.

"My late father was the very same Karissa. He just wanted me to be an Aristocrat and live off my trust fund that was established for me by great grand father and grand-father and himself. When I told him that I could not just sit around and do nothing with my life. I told him I was going to attend Star Fleet Academy. He shook his head and said, "Don't expect any help from me Lord David." David tells Karissa.
