Edge and Red had known Mettaton since they were little. She had been there when their father died. When Red was supposed to take the crown, but instead passed it down to his younger brother. She watched as Edge slowly turned into the cruel man he is now known as.
You could say the power went to his head.
But Mettaton doesn't believe that is the case. No, if you ask her she would tell you that the stress, the pressure, got to him.
Edge was a sweet innocent child, if you had told anyone back then that he would rule the kingdom with a iron fist, they would of laughed in your face and then locked you up for being crazy.
But now a days you were more crazy if you thought the King would show mercy. Hell, he didn't even show mercy to his older brother. You could say he was full of love.
"Mettaton?" Papyrus called, snapping Mettaton out of her thoughts.
"Sorry dear, was just thinking of Edge."
Papyrus smiled, he was a young man from the neighboring kingdom of Undertale, "It's alright, you said he came by earlier?"
She nodded, "He wanted my opinion on something."
"Is everything alright?"
"Of course dear, nothing the King can't deal with himself." Mettaton replys with a smile, pecking Papyrus on the cheek, "Now how are you and your brother doing?"
He smiles, "We are rich and miserable."
