Chapter 5

Skyler's POV

We lined up and one by one people where called in to audition for the musical. I was so nervous unlike Nat who surprisingly completely calm. "I-I can't do this" I whined shaking my head "Yes you can" she assured me grabbing my shoulders and shacking me. I chewed my lip "Hey!" Luke said "Hey" Nat replied cheerfully. Luke looked at me with a puzzled look on his face "whats wrong Sky?" he questioned "oh don't mind her she's just nervous" Nat assured him.

"Don't worry your going to be fine" Calum said "easy for you guys to say you chickened out of the whole thing." "did not!" Luke whined "prove it… audition" I said egging him on. Me and Nat looked at them for a moment hands on our hips "fine" "dude!" Calum whined slapping Luke's arm. We laughed "Natalie Lane Your Next" Ms. Leslie spoke clearly causing me to shiver "wish me luck?" She whispered before turning around and entering the drama room. 

"How can she possibly be that calm?" I questioned. "No idea" Luke and Calum said in sync I couldn't help but laugh again when they gave each other and annoyed look. 

Just then Mallroy walked up and practically shrieked "Luke, Calum your auditioning good about time some real talent auditions… well I mean besides me" Luke and Calum grinned but I could tell it was pretend. "Oh sorry Skylar didn't see you there" I rolled my eyes 

"Skylar Andrews your next" The teacher said I gulped walking towards the doors I past Natalie on my way and she gave me a thumbs up. Why did she have to be so positive? The room was cleared chairs stacked up in piles against the windows. Three teachers where sitting on chairs with clipboards on there laps, "um… hi I'm going to sing uh I Won't Give Up By Jason Maraz.

When I look into your eyes it's like watching the night skies

Or a beautiful sunrise theres so much there hold

and just like them old stars 

I sees that you've come so gar 

I could tell my voice was shakey I rocked back and forth and mentally told myself to calm down. 

I won't give up on us 

Even if the skies get rough 

Giving you all my love  

I'm still looking up

I was still shaky I hated singing in front of people, especially people with clip boards. I did musicals mostly for the acting part.

Cause even the stars they burn 

Some even call to the earth 

we've got a lot to learn 

God know we're worth it

I finished singing "Thank you" I said before leaving the room when I pushed open the door I almost ran straight into Natalie who was no doubt trying to listen. "That. Was. Awesome!" She yelled hugging me I shrugged. "Luke Hemmings your turn." 

Natalie's POV

I had gone in and seen Mr. Meyers and Ms. Leslie and they had smiled at me and told me to go ahead once I told them I was singing I'm Yours.

Well, you dawned on me and you bet I felt it

I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted

I fell right through the cracks

Now I'm trying to get back

Before the cool dawn run out

I'll be giving it my bestest

And nothing's gonna stop me but divine intervention.

I reckon, it's again my turn

To win some or learn some.

I knew doing well.  I smiled a bit and I continued, going into my own little world.

But I won't hesitate

No more, no more.

It cannot wait,

I'm yours.

I finished and they both smiled and I then said "Thank you."  I quickly left, to brush past Skyler giving her a thumbs up.  She nodded and shakily opened the door and went in.

I saw Luke and Calum and I then walked over to them and said "So are you two winging it?"  They nodded.  "Pretty much." Calum said running a hand through his hair.

I then reassured him saying "Please, if you can wing Bruno Mars, you can wing anything else." "Like what?"  I paused.  "Hey There Delilah would be good." I said and Calum nodded.

"Well I don't have anything." Luke said sighing.  "Um…what about um….ugh what's the name, uh that's it!  'Forget You' Cee Lo Green!" I said snapping my fingers.

Luke nodded and I then realized I needed to listen in on Sky.  I put my ear against the door, and I didn't even need to hear two notes to know she had this.

She finished and came back and I said "That was AWESOME!"  I hugged her while Sky just stood there.

Then Ms. Leslie called "Luke Hemmings!"  Luke looked at Sky and she then said "Good luck!"  He nodded and went in.  A couple minutes later he came out and Calum got called in next.  Then Mallory.

We were allowed to leave at that point, so we did all together and I then said "So I guess we just have to wait and see what happens."  The others nodded.  We went on back home after that.
