Chapter 31

Skyler's POV

I spent Sunday curled up on my couch watching reruns of How I Met Your Mother with a cup of tea hot in my hand I had texted Natalie and Luke a couple of times just to see how they where spending there Saturdays and if they where ready for play rehearsal tomorrow. 

We had reached the point in the program where we'd start blocking scenes full out meaning I would have to kiss Luke several times, in several of the up coming rehearsals. 

I woke up monday morning dazed and exhausted slowly changing into the uniform and grabbing a coffee "Have a good day sweetie" my mom said kissing my cheek "love you mom see you later" I called adjusting my backpack strap and walking out the door. "Hey" Luke said leaning against my door post his side swept hair looking a little more like Michaels today 

"Hey" I say walking towards him "what are you doing here" he shrugs "thought we could walk to school together" "how thoughtful" I say messing up his hair "I hate you" he whines trying to fix it again I gasp pretending to be offended. "So um play blocking starts tonight right?" he asks awkwardly I don't even need to look to know he's running his fingers through his hair "yup" I reply blandly popping the 'p' he grabs my arm turning me to face him and stops walking "p romise me it won't be weird ok?" he asked seeming genuinely concerned I look at him confused by the statement "promise" 

I agree holding out my pinky he looks at it and rolls his eyes wrapping his arm around my shoulder beginning to walk again. "So hey did you see our new video?" he asked eyes lighting up "surprisingly no" I reply truthfully "oh... I think it's our best one yet" I smile 

"Oh really?" I say smugly looping my thumbs through the straps of my backpack and turning towards him quickly "yeah ok you where right Michael was a good idea" he admitted "he's really good" I say again Luke chuckles "yeah I know he's really shy though seriously, refuses to look at the camera" 

"Michael? Shy? I don't buy it" I confess "it's true!" he argues I smile widely "Luke! Luke!" I hear Michael call slamming his car doors "hey Michael" Luke says turning around "I got us a gig!" he says excitedly semi out of breath "what really?" He asked shocked "yeah my uncle runs a coffee house said we could try a few songs" "oh my god that's incredible" I said hugging them both the warning bell goes off as I pull away "I'm gonna be late" Luke jumped running to the entrance doors 

"he is such a dork" I confess way to fondly for my liking "you love him." Michael chuckles making me glare at him. I walk to my first class and find out that our sub has scheduled us for the library which basically meant free time with out a second thought I go to youtube and search hemmo1996 smiling stupidly when I see the screen read Blink 182- Miss You 5 Seconds Of Summer (cover) 

I click it and plug in the head phone genuinely shocked when I see Michael playing the bongos they needed a drummer I thought to myself. "Hey who are they?" The brown headed girl beside me "Uh hemmo1996" I say awkwardly "cool thanks" she says plugging her head phones into the computer and opening up youtube. 

The day goes by extremely quick and before I know it I'm walking into the theatre room nervously and taking my seat next to Natalie who pats my leg reassuringly. "Alright so let's just dive in starting with the Drive In scene Danny, Sandy, Kenikie, Rizzo you're up" he said trying to be cool we took our places on stage and I gulped nervously  

"Alright and-" "Excuse me sir" Michael said interrupting the class "Could I borrow Miss Andrews it's urgent! Miss Bander asks specifically for her" he tried to explained Mr. Meyers sighs motioning for me to leave the class room I grab my bags and run out Michael holding the door for me.    

Natalie's POV

What was going on that was so urgent?  I silently thought to myself.  I figured I could just ask her later.  

"Alright maybe we won't do that scene.  We'll just wait until Skyler gets back.  Um actually we'll do our first scene.  The beach.  Sandy and Danny, get ready, I just need to check something."  Mr. Meyers ran out for a moment.

"Why do you think Skyler left?" Calum asked immediately and I shrugged replying "No clue."  We waited a couple minutes before Mr. Meyers came back and said "Alright everyone! Let's get everything together!"

Me and Calum headed out onto the stage and I began.  "Oh but Danny, I don't want to leave.  I don't want to go....leave you here.  I've had the summer of my life." I said as Calum pulled me close and said "Come on Sandy, that's the best part!"  He then passionately kissed me, and although I desprately didn't want to, I pulled away and said "Danny stop it!  You're only making it worse!" "No Sandy....I'm only making it better...." Calum said kissing me again.

"Alright cut!  That was good you two, but Mr. Hood....actually nevermind.  That kiss was indeed perfect.  Just what we needed." Mr. Meyers said before the first day scene began.

I walked backstage, blushing a little from that kiss.  Gosh, Calum was for sure a good kisser!  Suddenly I nearly ran into Mallory.  She stared at me and said "Oh my god I'm so sorry Natalie!"  I didn't say anything and Mallory said "You know he likes me....right?" 

I froze and said "I'm sorry Mallory, I didn't hear you for a sec.  What did you say again?" "I SAID that Calum actually HAPPENS to like ME.  Just keep that in mind while you're kissing him next time.  Okay?" Mallory said faking a grin.  I smiled back and said "And how exactly do you know that Calum likes you?"

Mallory laughed, a wicked kind of cackling.  "PLEASE.  How naive are you Natalie?  You're even worse than Sandra Dee herself!" "So at that party....why did he kiss me instead of you?" "He was drunk." "Not that I could tell.  You definititely were though."  

Mallory clenched her fists and said "But Natalie, you're just not his type.  Trust me, I would know." "Well I happen to know who he likes.  Because we happen to be together." I said flipping my hair, and I was just about to strut away before she said "WHAT."

"Oh my god I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner!  But you heard me correctly.  I'm Calum's girlfriend.  So please, try convincing me all you want about your bull, but it's not gonna work Mallory.  Try on another guy, that isn't Luke or Calum." I said before walking away completely.

Soon Skyler popped back through the doors backstage.  "Hey!" she said out of breath.  "There you are!  What happened?" I said immediately coming over to her.  "More like what's up with Mallory!  She stormed by me!" Sky said, setting her bag down.

"Yeah well let's just say I slapped some reality into her." "Literally?" "Metaphorically.  I told her me and Cal were together." "Well at least she'll leave you two alone." "More like try and think of ways to kill me first." I said taking a seat in front of one of the special mirrors.

"But what happened with you and Michael?" I asked and Skyler took a deep breath before telling me the story.
