Chapter 8
~ Niall ~
I tried to talk to Nina but she walked away from me so I went back home last night and now I'm right back at the college.
I don't care what I have to do, I'm getting her back.
As I parked, I saw Nina walking with books in her hands.
Wow, what are the chances?
"Nina, wait up!" I yelled as I ran over to her and she turned the way she was coming from once she saw me.
She struggled to get through the crowd of people going in the opposite direction and I lost her.
She is skinny and short, after all.
"Shit!" I cursed and tried my best to get through the people also.
As soon as I saw her beautiful, dark blonde hair, I started to get hopeful.
She got through the crowd and I followed shortly after her.
Damn she walks fast.
"Nina!" I shouted.
"Leave me alone!" She yelled not even giving me one glance.
I raced up to her and grabbed onto her arm, but not too hard like I did yesterday.
"Let. Go. Of. Me. Niall." Nina spoke slowly.
"I can't do that. Just please let me explain. Although it would be great, you don't have to take me back. I just want to show you how sorry I am about how this went." I said.
"Well, you're just going to have to wait because I'm not ready to talk to you. I'm not sure I ever will be." She looked down.
"You won't regret it, I promise." I said trying to convince her to talk to me.
"You were my best friend, Niall. And you know what? I love you. Notice how I didn't say 'loved'? That's because even after what you did, I still love you because I can't help it. You really had me going along that this whole relationship was real and I must applaud you on your acting, but that was horrible what you did. And I don't know if I could ever forgive you for that." Nina spoke, looking straight into my eyes.
"Just let me explain, I promise I'm not as bad as you think." I begged.
"I gave you an answer. I know you don't respect me, but you need to try to respect my answer."
I slowly let go of her arm and she turned the other way.
She started walking over water on a bridge and personally, it didn't look stable.
"Nina, that bridge isn't stable." I said as I saw it wobbling.
"It's fine, I'm not that fat." She said.
I watched her as she walked but then is as her step on a very loose part if the bridge and then I heard an ear piercing scream.
"Help!" Nina screamed.
I saw Nina's books laying on the bridge, right next to her.
Only she was not on the bridge.
More like under it.
"Nina!" I yelled and ran after her.
If she falls into the water, she's done for.
Oh god, Niall don't think that way!
Once I got to Nina, I could see that her feet were going crazy and swinging all over the place.
But what scared me most was that she was hanging on by just her fingertips.
"Help me!" She yelled.
"Grab onto my hand, I'll pull you up!" I said squatting down and reaching my hand out.
"Are you kidding? You'll drop me if I don't fall myself. You wouldn't save me." Nina spat.
Okay, that hurt.
I knew she wouldn't ever believe that I would want to save her again.
"Just please grab onto my hand! You'll be safe! I promise! I wouldn't let you be in danger!" I said starting to get even more worried now.
I can't just watch her fall, but she has to trust me.
"Please! Just trust me!" I begged.
She squeezed her eyes close and let go of the edge, holding on with one hand.
"Niall!" She screamed afraid that I would drop her.
I grabbed her tiny hand in my bigger one just in time before her second hand lost it's grip.
Just like when Nina was taken from me when we were kidnapped, only I couldn't save her that time.
I finally got Nina up and out of the hole and we fell back, her straddling me.
Her eyes were still squeezed close and her whole body was shaking.
"It's okay, baby girl. I've got you. You're alright." I whispered rubbing her back a little.
She slowly opened her eyes and they were set on mine.
We looked into each other's eyes for about 2 minutes, with them randomly glancing at the other's lips.
I thought maybe I could get her back now.
Maybe this is the moment.
As we both started to lean in, Nina shook her head and sighed before climbing off of me.
"I thought that you would forgive me?" I said standing up as she grabbed her books.
I heard screams coming from my left and I knew that fans had spotted me.
"Well you thought wrong, Niall. That doesn't even mean I trust you." She glanced at me from looking over her shoulder.
"Thanks for that, but I'm still not ready to talk." She said and started to walk away once the fans had found me.
But I didn't care that the girls were shoving phones and markers in my face.
My body was tense and my eyes were kept on the girl I love, walking away from me.
