Chris P.O.V.

Everything began to move extremely quickly and I wasn't as prepared as I thought I'd be. I was actually nervous. I'd missed the birth of my daughter but now that it was finally time for Lauryn to deliver, I had no experience on what to expect.

Although I wasn't very religious, I said a quick prayer, something my mother always did before going into a difficult or scary situation.

Finally, I looked down at my beautiful girlfriend, the one who was doing all this for me. We hadn't been together long and definitely didn't know each other for long, but I knew that I was in love with her. The past 10 months had been full of ups and down but I wouldn't trade anything at all for the result, this exact event.

I kissed her forehead and she glanced over towards me, looking terrified.

"Chris," she started.

"I know baby," I replied, taking her hand in mine.

"I'm scared," she said.

"I'm here, babygirl. I'm not leaving your side. You can do this." She nodded her head, but still looked in disbelief.

"Okay, Lauryn," Dr Marco began. "It's time for you to push." Her face began to turn red and I felt her begin to squeeze my hand. That's when I knew, we were doing this for real.

She cried out in agony and that part is what hurt me the most. There was not enough to administer an epidural or any heavy medicine by the time we arrived at the hospital. I knew she was in a lot of pain.

After pushing for a good five minutes, she began to lose her breathing techniques that we'd practice. "C'mon Laur, you got this. Let's go baby," I chanted in her ear.

She let go of my throbbing hand and began shaking her head. "I can't...I can't do this." I could see in her face how worn out she was.

"You're almost there Lauryn. The heads almost out. Give me one more big push," Dr. Marco assured.

She sighed and tried to breathe correctly again while she screamed, pushing again. "That's it! Keep going!" he shouted, clearly excited. "The baby's out!"

Wails came from a nurses hands as they wrapped the baby in a white blank, cleaned the airways out, and placed it on Lauryn's chest.

The baby immediately was soothed and Lauryn began to sob, rubbing on the baby's full head of hair. Tears slid from my eyes as I watched the beautiful encounter occur. "She's beautiful," Lauryn stated, looking up at me.

"She's incredibly beautiful babygirl. Just like her mother." I wiped the tears away from both of our eyes and kissed her passionately for a moment.

"Welcome to the world Evana Celine Rosario," she cooed to our daughter.

A nurse came over to her and took the baby away to be cleaned.

"This is almost impossible,"I heard Dr. Marco whisper to a nurse.

"What?" I called down to where he was inspecting.

"Well, we've figured out the reason for Lauryn's complications a few weeks. Ms. Evana here was being pushed out by her brother. He was somehow hidden from view in prior ultrasounds but we see him clear as day right now."

"Brother?" Lauryn shouted in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

"Congratulations Ms. Rodriguez. Your having twins!"

The doctors readjusted the room for Lauryn to get ready to push again. This time she shouted my name as she screamed. I felt so bad to see her in pain again when all she wanted to do was hold her babies. "How did this happen baby?" she asked, looking up at me.

I wiped sweat from her forehead and kissed her. "It's okay baby. We're gonna be okay."

After another nearly 15 minutes of pushing, a baby boy was pushed out, erupting in loud cheers and applause from the nurses in the room.

Even though I was surrounded by a room full of people and two of my children, I could only focus on one person, and one person only.

"I love you Lauryn," I proclaimed.

She looked up at me looking completely exhausted. Her lips formed a tiny smile and she nodded her head.

"I love you too Christopher."
