I showed up early and waited for her. She honestly deserved all the time in the world. When she emerged from the doors of her apartment building, my jaw basically dropped. She was so magnificently gorgeous, it was stunning.

"You look beautiful," I stated as she sat down.

"Thank you," she said softly.

"What are you craving?" I questioned wth concern.

"I don't know," stated solemnly.

"Lauryn, it can be anything. I don't care. You're the mother of my child. I'll get you anything."

"Okay, Chinese." I smiled and called my favorite place. When we got the food in the car, I began driving to one of my favorite places; the Upper West Side.

"Where are we going?" she asked, looking around outside the windows.

"It's a surprise." I smirked and watched her blush.

After a thirty minute drive, we arrived in front of an abandoned building. "I hate to make you walk up steps, but..."

"I'll be fine," she interrupted. Gripping the Chinese food in my hand, I helped her up the steps with my other arm until we reached the top, where the roof was. She was becoming short of breath and looked tired.

"I'm sorry babygirl." I began leading her to the ledge to sit. "This is 'the shore'."

Approaching the edge of the roof, there was a full view of where the mouth of East Bay reaches Upper Bay. The sun was setting, the waves were low, and it was beautiful, at least in my eyes.

"It's amazing." She began to smile and laugh. "How'd you find this?" I could tell she was lightening up to me.

"I have my ways," I played.

"Mhm, you sure do."

"Lauryn, I just wanna talk. Explain myself to you. I love you."

Author's Note: I've had a bunch of track meets this week and not enough time to update with finals. I'll add more tonight. I want to switch to Lauryn's POV right now.
