Lauryn P.O.V.

Chris quickly rushed me away, looking for somewhere safe. He pushed me behind a car parked on an empty street. "Stay here," Chris whispered. I looked up at him. I was frightened but tried not to show it. I nodded slowly. He patted my head and kissed my forehead.

BOOM.

I heard footsteps in the distance, but they weren't Chris'. He ran back onto the sidewalk before disappearing back into the alleyway.

BOOM. BOOM.

"Oh god, oh god," I muttered to myself, trying to keep quiet. My hands were shaking and I was freezing.

I scurried around in my purse, looking for my phone, not being able to find it. I heard something fall out of my clutch, probably my lipstick, but it was too dark to locate.

I found my phone, on 5%, and decided I needed to get out of danger. I slipped off my heels, hid them under the silver Volvo I was behind, and hurried to the subway.

---35 Minutes Later---

After catching the A train, and walking home, I finally arrived by 12:15. I rushed into my room eagerly, not even worrying about waking my other family members, and plugged in my dead phone. I had tried multiple times to call Chris on the train, but it died.

"Please turn on," I begged my intimate phone. I had to call Chris and let him know I was okay.

Waiting for my phone go get a little juice, I slipped out of my suit and stared in the mirror. My cheeks were red, my makeup was running, and my necklace was all twisted. My feet felt sore from walking barefoot.

I lay on the bed, waiting, inevitable falling asleep.
