Lauryn P.O.V.

I fluttered my eyes as a bright light shined on me.

"She's waking up, she's waking up." I heard Gigi whisper. "Go get a doctor Tee!" I heard shuffling, and opened my eyes to see a blurred Tee scrambling out of the room and Gigi sitting across from me in a chair under the TV.

"What--what time is it? What happened?" I asked Gigi. She walked over to me and kissed my cheek.

"I love you Lo," she said.

A doctor and Tee came back in through the door and she smiled at me. "Mrs. Rodriguez,  I'm glad you woke up right before I headed home for the day. How are you feeling?" she asked, adjusting her clipboard.

"I--I feel fine," I answered. "What's going on?" I said, sitting up in the bed.

I immediately felt sore and winced at the pain in my abdomen. I felt at my stomach and gasped, feeling a stitched cut on my stomach.

"What happened to my baby? Is my baby okay?" I shouted at her. Tears began to well in my eyes and my hands started to sweat. I needed answers now or I was going to freak out.

"Mrs. Rodriguez, please relax. It may harm you or your child even more. When you arrived, you had an amniotic sac leak which caused your baby to go into distress. As a result, you went into preterm labor. Those sharp pains you were having which you believed were Braxton Hicks, were actually contractions." I looked at Gigi and she nodded.

"So what now? Is...is my baby alright? Am I gonna be okay?"

She smiled and nodded, causing her ponytail to shake. "We were able to repair the leak and halt the labor process. It was very risky and if you had waited even 30 minutes longer to come, there could have been a more drastic outcome. We're going to do a few tests, but after you are sent home, you are in bed rest until your due date."

"But...but that's...5 more weeks!" I shouted.

"Yes, and you must remain on bed rest. There is no way around it. This is a very dangerous situation, Mrs. Rodriguez."

I sighed and leaned back in my bed.

"Thank you," I praised. She smiled and exited the room.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"2:30 in the afternoon," Tee responded.

"Yanna and Dajohn should be here any minute," Gigi said. As if signaled in, the door swung open and Yann came in holding a teddy bear and white chocolate.

"There's my stinky winky!" she screamed, hopping onto the bed. I groaned in response.

"Yann!" everyone shouted.

"Oh yeah. Forgot you had surgery bud." she kissed my cheek and hopped off.

"How's the warrior feeling?" Dajohn asked.

"I'm fine," I started.

"The baby..." he stated.

"Oh," I responded. As much as I loved my little bundle of joy, it was getting kind of annoying having everyone only care for the baby. "The baby's fine. Hanging in there for a couple more weeks."

"Where's Chris?" Yann asked, looking around.

"Family thing," Tee answered.

"And that was more important than this?" Dajohn asked.

"I, uh, haven't been able to get in touch with him."

Dajohn looked out the window and Yann looked up at the ceiling. I knew what they were thinking, I'd been thinking it too.

Chris could've been halfway across the world right now. Or dead in a ditch. Or kissing on another girl. Or trapped in a basement. Or in jail.

Wherever he was, I was pissed at him and second guessing everything he had said to me.
