Monday.
I was at my desk, typing away at an essay for my online class when my phone started ringing and I answered without looking at the caller id.
"Hello," my eyebrows furrow as I stared at my laptop screen.
"Lupe!" and overly excited Ashton spoke. "Let's got, we're going out before we fly back," he shushed the other boys in the car.
"Uh, yeah, sure, give me a few minutes," I sighed and hang up the phone call. I closed my laptop, changed into a pair of black skinnies, white lacy top, and my white low tops. I grabbed my purse and slipped my phone in my ass pocket.
"Mom, I'll be back later," I called out as I ran down the stairs and out the door after my mom shouted an 'okay' and 'don't be late'. Once I left my house, there was a car parked outside my house. I pulled open the passenger seat door and got in.
"Hey guys," I gave them a soft smile and hugged Ash who was in the driver's seat, they each responded with a 'hey' or 'hi'. I knew Calum was in the car, but I wasn't going to let him bother me.
"So, we're going to pick up a pizza and eat in the car, then probably hit up the movies," Mikey gave the plan and I simply nodded.
"Pizza in a car, sounds classy," I laughed. "How's the song writing and recording?"
"It's great, we've been writing like there's no tomorrow," Luke spoke excitedly.
"Well, I'm happy for you guys."
"How have you been, Lupe?" Calum spoke softly and I rolled my eyes.
"It's been great, I really love being away," the car went silent. Everyone knew that I was talking about being away from Calum and no one really knew what to say. "Oh look, pizza!" I pointed to the pizza shop as we parked.
"I'll go get it," Calum mumbled and left the car to retrieve the yummy food.
"I know this may be hard for you, Lupe, but he's still our friend," Ashton placed his hand on my shoulder.
"I know, anger just boils in me whenever I see him. He has no right to be sorry, if he was soo sorry then he wouldn't have done it in the first place," I sighed, trying to calm my breathing before I start crying.
"I'm back," Calum climbed back into the car with three boxes of pizza and a smaller box on top. "I bought a brownie for desert," he passed around the boxes.
"Yay! Pizza," Mikey snatches a box for himself, Ash and I share one, then Calum and Luke share another. We ate our pizza and laughed at some stupid jokes we told each other. Calum and I were holding out in the beginning but started joining our friends.
"So, Lupe, who was that guy yesterday?" Luke took a huge bite from his pizza.
"He was best friends with Isabell and I, we all met in the same grade. After we went on to high school, all three of us went to different schools. Isabell and I would always talk, but Andres stopped talking to us and that's pretty much it," I shrugged. I glanced at Calum and his jaw was clenched along with his fists.
"Best friends my ass," Cal growled and I rolled my eyes.
"One, you have no right to open your mouth," I took a bite of my pizza. "Two, I don't move on fast cause I'm fucking crushed," I wiped my mouth with a napkin. "Three, he's gay," I grabbed a brownie and popped it into my mouth.
Calum's jaw dropped along with everyone else's, I smirked then rolled my eyes. Turning my body to the face forward as I take another slice of pizza. I took out my phone and decide to scroll through my instagram feed.
"Movie anyone?" Mikey spoke up and the others nodded.
-
"5 tickets for The Visit," I spoke to the worker. He smiled an nodded, printing out the tickets and handing them over.
"$42.86," I handed him the cash and he gave me the receipt with the change. "Enjoy your movie."
"You too," my eyes widen for a second he laughed. "Fuck," I laughed and face palmed as I blushed.
"It's okay, that happens all the time," he laughed and nodded, saying bye. I walked over to the boys and handed them each their ticket.
"Let's go," we walked in and checked in our tickets. We bought our own snacks, I got popcorn, reese's cups and a slushie. "Theater 3," I read off the ticket and we made our way to the dark room.
"Calum, then Luke, then Ashton, and then me and Lupe," Mikey picked our seats and we all sat down in that order. The movie starts off pretty good, the 2 kids go off to visit their grandparents to meet them for the very first time.
"I bet they aren't the kids' real grandparents," I whisper to Mikey and he nods his head in agreement. The children started to play hide and seek when their grandma joins them.
"Where are you, children," the old lady spoke creepily, the kids crawl to hide. "BOO!"
"FUCK!" I jumped and turn my face into Mikey's chest. I could feel his chest vibrating with laughter and I slapped his shoulder to get him to stop. "That bitch scared me! She came out of nowhere," I scolded and rolled my eyes. I turned my head back to the screen, but still leaving it on his shoulder.
-
"I fucking called it!" I laughed as we walked out of the theater. "I told Mikey that they weren't their real grandparents," I shouted as we walked over to the car.
"She did, I heard," Mikey laughed and draped his arm on my shoulder lazily.
"That shit was predictable, I could make a better movie," I laughed, once we got to the car, Mikey's arm came off my shoulders and climbed into the car. There was still a box that had a few slices of pizza, I took one and started eating it. "When do you guys leave later?"
"The flight departs at midnight," Ashton spoke as we drove away from the theater.
"We have everything packed up already since we didn't bring much," Mike spoke up and also took a slice.
"You two are the only ones that I know that would eat a pizza that has been sitting in a car for hours," Luke laughed.
"It's because Mikey and I are connected," I took Mikey's hand jokingly intertwining or fingers then letting go. From the corner of my eye, I could see Calum rolling his eyes and his jaw clenching. He's just annoyed because I find comfort in Michael, I can't help it, Mikey makes me feel safe.
"We're here," Ashton pulled up to my house and parked. We all got out of the car and shared hugs except for Calum. I said my goodbyes then walked up to my door.
"Lupe?" I turned to face Calum.
"What?" I placed my hand on my hip.
"I shouldn't have said the words that I said, I'm sorry," he takes my hand in his and I rip it away immediately.
"I hate you, Calum Hood. I hope I never have to see you again," I seethed.
"I'm trying to make an effort, you're the one who is finding comfort in my best friend," his fists clench and I slapped him immediately.
"He has been there for me after what you did! You shut up because you know nothing, I wouldn't do that to you! I'm not one for 'revenge'," I shouted in his face. "Get off my property," I growled as I unlocked the door, making my way inside and slamming the door shut.
I ran up to my room and closed the door before climbing into bed and letting my tears fall down my face. I sobbed so much that it was hard to keep my sobs quiet. I curled into a ball for my sides and chest started to cause me pain.
