I quietly roamed the halls in the middle of eight period, singing. The class wasn't doing my anything in particular since our room was being aired out because of the smell of dead fish we used for a science lab. So I asked my teacher to walk around and she let me. So I ended up in the back hall by the lunch room Dragging my left hand along the lockers.
"Once upon a December.." I quietly sang, humming the rest off the tune as I looked at a poster.
'DRAMA CLUB: SIGN UP NOW.'
Only two names resided on the poster, both freshman. I noticed that the paper had a number before each line as I scribbled my signature. I was number 52. Practices started in a week. I held the small red slip as I read the info and information.
"Interested, hm?"
I turned around to see a man, about my height. His hair shaved short on the sides and a slight goatee growing. I instantly noticed him, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
"Me? Oh. Yeah." I smiled, brushing some of my pastel pink hair behind my ears.
"Number? I mean, the one next t where you wrote your signature." He laughed I smiled.
"Fifty two."
He got a huge smile, "thank god, I thought it was gonna crash."
"So. Uhm. Why are you here? I thought you worked on broadway.."
"Well I know the drama teacher, Miss Gordon, pretty well. She needed some help, so I'll comply."
I rocked back on my heels then back on the balls of my feet, "what's the musical?""This is the fun part, it's Hamilton."
"Hamilton? At a high school?"
"Yeah. It's gonna be a bit challenging for me and for you guys but I have a good feeling. My niece, her school one NJTC with Hamilton: Restricted. Which changed some scenes and such."
"Oh! Who'd she play."
"She was Eliza."
I looked at the wall then back at him "Mia Ramos?"
"Yeah. Oh shit. I wasn't supposed to say she was my niece."
I laughed "its alright, I won't tell and I'll probably end up forgetting."
We talked a bit about Hamilton and I ended up mentally deciding to be Angelica when he told me it was a basic copy of the show with one song added: congratulations. I loved congratulations. I waved goodbye as I went back to eighth period and collected my books. The bell rang and I stepped out, shoving what I needed to take home in a messenger bag I used and the rest went in my locker. Siding my phone in my front pocket I made my way down the hall. To chorus.
This is the companion book to Sorry! Adopted by Janthony! I will be posting this short story while I work on the sequel. Thank you guys for being so patient.
