"And our soloists for You are my sunshine are, Blasko and Fisher." the chorus teacher Mrs Massell smiled and I smiled even bigger. The all female chorus clapped, my friends London, Yvonne and Tyra and smiled hugging me. We began singing the different songs and I kicked my legs gently back and forth as we sang, we eventually came up to my solo

"I'll always love you, and make you happy. And nothing else could, come inbetween. but if you leave me, for another you have shattered all. My dreams." Now London sang with me "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are grey. You'll never know dear. How much I'll love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."

Then I was solo again "please don't take, my sunshine away."

The room filled with applause and I smiled.

•after practice•

I walked down the familiar hallway, holding my ukelele to my chest. I sat in a chair next to my mother, who was sleeping peacefully in her coma. I began singing softly.

"Wise men say.."

Once I finished the song, I felt tears running down my face. I wiped them on my sleeve and bang my homework in the small room. They wheeled another girl in and I noticed a scar along her back. They were pumping blood into her, a man stood next to her bed. Anthony Ramos. Jasmine held his hand as they put his blood into her, and added blood to him.

"She should wake up soon, Mr. Ramos we're gonna take you to your own room. Ok?" Once he left I noticed I was staring and blushing turning away. After a few hours I realized Jasmine was singing to the girl. It was Mia, she was singing a song I hadn't heard before. The door opened and Lin stepped in. I buried my face and spun around completely, leaning on my moms bed and holding her hand. In silence. He whispered to Jasmine for a hit before I shut my eyes and attempted to sleep which was short lived when the door opened.

"Miss Blasko.." a lady spoke, my eyes opened slightly. She smiled, Dr. Grey.

"Dr. Grey." I nodded.

"We're gonna wheel her to Chemo, take her out of the coma during and out her back in after. Ok?"

"Mhm." I nodded. I walked out and looked over at Lin, who's face went from sad to shocked as I filled my mothers wheelchair out of the room.
