"I have to go," Zack scoots back in his chair, "Emily and I are meeting with Gideon."

Huh?

"Gideon. Why? Does he need a shr--, I mean, psychiatrist now?"

Zack leans over, picking up one of the glasses of water and pushes his chair under the table, "No," he shakes his head, "He's briefing us on Skylar's mental status and how he's dealing with everything," he takes a drink, "You know, about us."

What the...

"Wait, so now Emily's suddenly evaluating everyone's coping skills?" I automatically roll my eyes without thinking.

His face contorts and I can tell my little display pissed him off, "Did you not hear me, Kate? Emily is one of the finest psychiatrists in the country," he stops, placing his water back on the table, "If she decides Skylar needs her help, I will give her full access to him."

Wait a second...

"What do you mean? Like, one on one therapy?" I tilt my head, trying to will the instant needles beginning to prick at my stomach.

"Yes," he starts to walk toward the door and for a second, I see him glance over at Victoria, still loading our dishes on the cart, then his eyes come back to me, "That's usually how it's done."

"Where? I mean, would you bring him here?" I catch up to him.

His hand goes to the latch, "Yeah." he lifts it up, "Emily has her own, private office," he pulls open the door, giving me a slight bow, "We'll see you at dinner. You can talk to her then."

Oh, I will.

"Yeah, okay, I'll see ya then," I get out just before the door closes . My mind is on full throttle and I'm still trying to figure out what the hell Emily is up to when I turn around and see Victoria. I can tell she was watching us, or maybe Zack and she instantly goes back to stacking dishes, "You alright?" I walk closer to her, gently placing my hand on her shoulder.

She blinks and looks away, like she doesn't want me to see her cry, "Yes, your Majesty. I'm fine," she whispers, pushing the loaded cart around as she quickly heads toward to door.

"Victoria, wait," I can almost feel her heartache from here, "Give him some time," I get out because I don't really know what to say. I'm pretty sure Zack still has feelings for her but somehow, Emily has a hold on him, and it's strong. Even a little creepy.

She doesn't say a word but she turns around and drops into a deep bow--her long blonde hair falling off her left shoulder, "Let me know if you need anything else, your Highness," her voice quivers and she returns to the cart, pushing it away.

I take in a deep breath and let it out slowly. How could he do this? How could he be so cruel?

Walking back toward the table, I suddenly notice the silver laptop Victoria left and can't believe I almost forgot about it. I nearly trip over my own feet as I sprint over, grabbing it before pulling out another chair. I practically yank it open, checking to see if it's already connected to the wifi--and it is.

Check.

I click on the search button and immediately my fingers begin typing in her name:

The second I press go, I can't believe my eyes...
