Juliet was awaken early in the morning by the sun that streamed through her certain. Her eyes caught sight of something as soon as she woke up. Their, on her pillow, laid a necklace. One she had never seen before.

Juliet slowly picked it up and placed it in her hand. To her, it looked like a gold deer head.

Knock, knock, knock.

Juliet looked away from her necklace to the door. "Come in."

One of her servants, Rebecca, walked in. "Lady Juliet, it's time to get ready for the King's arrival. Sebastian is waiting for you as well."

"Thank you, Rebecca. I'll be out in a moment."

Rebecca nodded and quickly left the room. Juliet looked back down at the necklace, again. Maybe she could ask Bash about it.

"You look lovely, as always." Bash commented, sneaking up behind the girl and wrapping his arms around her waist.

Juliet giggled and leaned her head back into Bash's chest. "Thank you." Bash released her and placed a quick kiss on her lips. "So, are you excited for your father's return?"

"As much as I can be, yes."

"Oh," Juliet stopped, remembering what she wanted to ask him in the first place. "I actually wanted to talk to you about something." Juliet pulled the necklace from behind her cloak. "I found this on my pillow this morning. I'm not sure what it is."

Bash's face grew pale and his mouth dry. The events from last night replaying in his mind. The man threatening him, throwing himself off the balcony. The same man who originally wore that necklace.

"Bash? What is it?"

Sebastian grabbed the girl's hands and brought her closer to him. "Just stay by my side, okay. I'll explain later."

"Bash, what's going on?"

Bash looked in the girl's eyes as he spoke. "Do you trust me?"

"Yes, of course but.."

"All you have to know is that I love you, so so much, and I promise, on my life, that I will explain everything to you and I will help you figure this out. All you have to do is wait until after the gathering for my father. Can you do that?" Juliet nodded and wrapped an arm around his waist and they both walked towards the front of the crowd, ready to greet the King.

Not long after their discussion, the carriage rode up and out stepped the King and his mistress, Diane. Sebastian's mother.

Bash looked around one last time before closing Juliet's bedroom doors shut. He wanted to make sure no one would hear him when he told her the biggest secret of his life. Bash rubbed his hands together as he thought about where to begin. Juliet noticed his nervousness and took his hands in hers.

"If you're not ready to tell me something, you don't have to."

"Yes, I do."

"Then take a deep breath," Bash did so. "and know that no matter what it is, I will love you the same as I have before. Even more if that's possible."

"You are amazing. Truly. Which is why this is so hard to say."

"Just tell me."

"It starts with that necklace. The one you found on your pillow. There are people of a different faith.."

"Pagans." Juliet filled in for him. "I heard about them from people around the castle. Them doing things called... blood sacrifice in the woods."

"Yes. Well, they believe I own them a debt for 'interrupting' their blood sacrifice. There was a boy in the castle the same night you got the necklace. He was wearing it. He said if I didn't choose someone else to sacrifice, they'd choose for me. "

"I don't understand. Why would they try to make a deal with you, why wouldn't they just take you?"

"That's what I have to tell you. My mother, Diane, was...a Pagan. Which means I'm associated with the Pagans. But she's changed now. She's changed her religion, faith, her whole life." Juliet just stared at him blankly. "I'm sorry if this changes things between us but.."

The last part of Bash's sentence was cut off by Juliet's lips. Bash was surprised by the girl's action but kissed her back with as much passion as she was kissing him.

"I did not expect that." Bash said, catching his breath.

"Well, what did you expect?"

"That you would...run away screaming."

"Why would I do that? You just told me that your mother gave up that life, and even if she didn't, why would I let something like that take away my relationship with the man I truly love?"

"You are absolutely incredible." Bash smiled as he brought the girl into another kiss.
