it's once again another day out on the streets. you did have a place to live, but you didn't enjoy it there as it was owned by your abusive and controlling mother.

you've always been a daddy's girl, so when he died of cancer when you was 9 years old, it hit you hard.

you belonged in a happy family, you had money and you had loving friends, but after your dad died, everything from there slowly went downhill.

your mother started to take out her frustrations out on you and your baby brother.

your baby brother was already weak-hearted, so when your mother would abuse him, it damaged his health immensely to the point where he couldn't handle it any more.

yes, your mother killed your brother, but she pays people a lot of money so she doesn't get put behind bars.

what's worse is that you have to pretend everything was fine when it's not.

at school, everyone thinks you're an outgoing girl, but that's because your witch of a mother forced you to act like one - she doesn't want anyone knowing the truth.

they think you own expensive things, but your mother takes them off of you the minute you get home; it's just a show to hide my true disgusting self.

they think the bruises are from after school sport activities, but she's the one who causes them.

you wake up in bed at 5am - you had to wake up extremely early in order to leave the house without bumping into your abusive mother. you get ready and leave, there was still a couple of hours till school opened so you visit your little hideout - an abandoned swimming pool. no one went there and you often visit this place to put your mind as ease and relax from life.

after a couple of hours, you decide it was time to leave. you put on your act and go to school, you didn't know how long you could keep up with this facade.

you meet up with your best friend, jin, he's the only person that knows the situation your in and he's been a massive help during your struggles.

he told you to meet him behind school after lesson and so you did.

you saw him standing there with a smile on his face; you really were grateful you had a friend like him.

"hey y/n" he says.

"hey jin, what did you want to talk to me about?" you reply, he seemed really serious, so it must be important.

"y/n, I really want you to know something" he says, looking deeply into your eyes.

"know what?" you get impatient as you look back at him.

"i r-really like you y/n, please be my girlfriend" jin was furiously blushing as you stood there in shock.

you've seen jin as a brother this whole time, how could you suddenly just throw that away? what if you break up? then you'll have no one...

"w-what?" you managed to reply. you had no idea what to say. why couldn't things just be the same as it is now?

after seconds of silence passed, you did what you do best - run away.

you ran as fast as you could to your hideout and uncontrollably cried till you fell asleep, but you couldn't. all you kept picturing was jin's disappointing face when he realised you had rejected him.

you was dreaded about what tomorrow would bring. you had prayed that jin would still act normal around you, depsite what had happened.

you walked into school the next day and you felt every pair of eyes looking at you and whispering - what happened?

"er it's that slag that lied about herself"

"omg, isn't that the girl that bought all them expensive things to show off?"

"she's the one that fakes her personality in school isn't it? tsk disgusting"

"i can't believe we all fell for her act"

all these comments we're ringing in you ear. jin couldn't have..

you ran around school, not caring about the whispers, all you was looking for was your best friend, jin.

he wasn't in class, nor was he in the canteen, so you went to the rooftop.

you slowly creaked the door open only to see the boy that had helped you through so much making out with a girl from my class.

you got to admit, it hurt. he betrayed you by telling all your deep secrets to everyone.

but after thinking about him last night, you realised that you should've accepted his offer when you had the chance - you was confused between brotherly love and romantic love.

you sprinted back home and ran upstairs to your room - you only had a few minutes before she comes upstairs to check up on you.

you take out your pen and paper and write a letter.

a few minutes later, after finishing up your letter, your mother burst into your room with a baseball bat.

"why aren't you in school and where the fuck were you last night!?" she shrieked, you didn't answer; you just wanted her to kill you already.

"not answering huh? you've got some guts" she charges at you and swings the bat across your head.

you collapse onto the floor and feel every swing that strikes your body. you slowly drift into an eternal darkness and smile; finally.
