you had been blessed with the life of being rich and wealthy, and you never took it for granted. 

you always tried to help other people less fortunate than you like donating to charity, getting homeless people back on their feet etc.

everyone adored you, especially the lower class since you weren't snobby like the other rich people. 

you had a boyfriend called jin, he was like you. he always helped out in charities and loved giving to those in need, since he also was the son of a massive company.

everyone saw you two as the perfect couple, both of you had money, both of you were stunning and you were both kind. 

your parents approved of the relationship but unfortunately jin's parents didn't.

even though your company was big, their company was massive and his parents wanted him to be with a girl more wealthier than you.

you and jin entered a quiet cafe with barely no one inside, the owners looking at both of you awe wondering why two of the richest people in the city were sat in a cafe like theirs.

"can i have a vanilla milkshake?" you say. 

"erm, can i also have one?" jin says as well.

"that would be 6.50" he says, you hand him a 20 and tell him to keep the change.

jin carries both of the beverages and makes his way to a table, with you following him.

he pulls out the seat for you and you warmly smile at him while sitting down, he returns the smile and makes his way to the opposite side.

his smile disappears as he sits down remembering the reason he invited you here in the first place.

"so, what did you want to tell me?" you said while sipping on the milkshake.

"e-erm  y/n i don't know how to say this.." he stutters, you lower your milkshake from your mouth and listen carefully.

"come on jin, you know i'll love you no matter what" you awkwardly laugh to ease the tension.

"y/n... my mom and dad have arranged a marriage with another girl" he finally says.

your eyes widened as you try to process what he just said.

"y/n i'm so sorry, i tried to tell them......." your mind blanked out everything and all you could see was his lips moving.

you looked down and saw the bracelet he gave you when you first started out dating. it was blue sapphires, your favourite colour, encrusted with a gold lining. 

tears started forming in your eyes as you relayed your past with him. 

despite being rich and everyone liking you, you wasn't happy because you didn't have jin.

you slowly looked up again and saw his angelic face, you couldn't be angry at him, it wasn't his fault.

you blamed yourself for this, you knew that his parents didn't approve but you selfishly kept seeing him, it was only inevitable that this was going to happen.

you start to come back to reality and interrupt his long apology.

"..it's okay, i understand" you look at him and smile with teary eyes. 

there was no point fighting for the relationship, you knew how his parents were like, they would never let you marry jin.

all those nights where you dreamt of having children and happily living in a big house with just the two of you were crushed, oh how silly you were to think that his parents would change their mind about you.
