Chapter 25 Family

Daryl's POV
I woke up just before sunrise with Delilah's naked body laying half over mine, her head on my chest. Our legs were still tangled together. I wanted to let her sleep, but also didn't want her to wake up without me there. I'd snuck out on women in the past, but that was different... this was different. I also didn't think I'd be able to sneak out from under her without waking her up. I stroked her back lightly with my fingertips and felt goosebumps rise under my fingers.

She stirred in her sleep. "Mmmmmm". She stretched like a cat, and her delicious body rubbed against mine. Her movement was not improving my daily problem with my morning hard on. I had gone from a small tent in the sheets before she moved to a fully hard erection pushing onto my belly.

Her leg bent at her knee and slid up. Her green eyes flew open and she gasped. I stroked the length of her back. "It's ok Doc. You're with me." She looked up into my eyes, then relaxed. "You were pretty far away there Doc. Good mornin'." I whispered.

She smiled into my eyes. "Yeah, I guess I was dreamin'. I'm glad ya haven't left yet. I wanted ta be sure and say goodbye." She pulled herself in closer and snuggled under my chin. "Good morning darlin'. I'm gonna miss you like hell!" She ran her fingernails lightly across my chest, tracing little circles on my skin.

I had to stop her before she drove me completely crazy with need. I grabbed her hand and intertwined our fingers. I kissed the top of her head. "Last night was amazing Doc, but if you keep that up you're gonna make me keep Aaron waitin'."

She smiled and winked. "He's never kept you waitin'?"

I chuckled. "Well maybe for a couple of minutes, but what I wanna do ta you would take a lot longer'n that Smokestack. Now, kiss me and let me go get ready. Gonna need ta take a cold shower anyway."

She leaned over and kissed me, letting the soft kiss linger and draw out. She hummed in the back of her throat. I grabbed her shoulders with both hands and flipped her onto her back. I kissed her with brutal determination to leave her as senseless as she was making me. We were both breathing in ragged gasps when I pulled away.

I jumped up out of bed and walked toward the bathroom. Her eyes got wide when she saw the effect she had on me. "You sure ya don't need some help with that shower." She drawled in her sexy morning voice.

I smiled and entered the bathroom. "That would defeat the purpose of the 'cold' shower Doc." I let the cold water wash over me, almost completely alleviating the issue of my erection. I got dressed and walked back into the bedroom.

Delilah was sitting up in the bed covered with nothing but the sheet. Her hair was rumpled, and her lips looked slightly swollen. She was completely irresistible. "So if ya'd like, I can get dressed and walk to the gate with ya."

I shook my head. "Nah. This right here is the picture of you I wanna carry in my head with me while I'm gone." I pulled her into my arms and held her. I felt her take a deep, shuddering breath like she was trying to hold back tears. I pulled her back and looked into her eyes. She was struggling not to cry.

I wrapped her in my arms again. "Hey now. None a that. Ain't nuthin' in this world gonna keep me from comin' back to ya Doc. I'll only be gone a few days. Look, I want ya to talk ta Rosita about coverin' for ya when I get back. I have somethin' special I wanna do with ya, ok?"

She nodded into my chest and sniffled. "I'm just gonna miss ya so much darlin'.

I rubbed her head. "I know love. I'm gonna miss you and the princess somethin' awful. You give her kisses from me everyday while I'm gone, ok?" I pulled her back to look in her eyes. She nodded, and I pulled her to me for a kiss. Her taste had become like water to me, and I didn't know how I would go 24 hours without her lips on mine. "I love you so much Delilah."
