Aria's POV

I fumbled through my locker organizing it like I do daily happy that I have the time to clean it out fully.

Last night was a complete blur it hurt my head to think about it. I could not stop my wolf from sturing in my head.

After I walked home I couldn't sleep so I simply got ready and headed to school which is where I am now.

I continued to clean out my locker gathering all of the crumpled notes and flattening the ones I need and throwing the ones I don't away.

Luckily school doesn't start for about an hour so not many students were here the only other people were the teachers.

My mind kept reeling me into thinking about Declan and how his lips sent tingles throughout my body.

At the thought, I shivered in delight and then smacked myself in the face. I began to scold myself at the thought of how he rejected us.

I was startled by someone wrapping their arms around my waste sending familiar butterflies in my stomach but not tingles.

"What are you doing here so early?" Kaiden asked as he hugged my waist kissing my cheek.

"Could not sleep so I decided to come to school early today," I replied quickly hugging him back.

"Well, that just means that there is more time for you and me," Kaiden replied happily pecking my cheek once more.

He pulled me away as he grabbed my hand and twirled me around soft giggled escaping my lips.

He held both of my hands in his as he moved my hands back and forth doing a little dance.

We danced together and laughed in the school hallways smiling brightly at each other.

My wolf began to stur in my mind once more as I perked my ears up and a familiar and addictive scent hit my nose.

I looked to the right to meet the gaze of beautiful brown eyes of Declan, my mate.

Kaiden quickly pulled my hands and I fell into his chest our lips touching. I didn't know how to react so I just kissed him back.

Kaiden smiled into the kiss as he held onto me tightly I smiled back as I wrapped my arms around him.

I pulled away from the kiss as I looked into Kaiden's eyes smiling. I turned to the right to meet the gaze of Declan's.

He looked so defeated so helpless his eyes filled with pain and suffering. I looked back at him with equal pain as I turned my gaze away.

My heart ached to be with my mate but could he honestly say the same. Butterflies erupted through my stomach at last night's memories.

Kaiden picked me up in his arms as he twirled me around in the air happily. I let another soft giggle escape my lips as I held onto him tightly.

I looked over to Declan once more but this time not in pity. This time with confidence.

I turned back to Kaiden as I leaned in and kissed him once more smiling at the thought that at least someone cared.

I smirked to myself at the thought of Declan in pain. Not because of the fact that he misses us.

I could not help but think that rejection never works, after all.
