Thank you to everyone who has read and commented so far. :)
Yuzuru pov.
I can't deny that I'm unhappy with my performance, but I am grateful that I wasn't terrible. Watching Shoma was heartbreaking, though. I just want to go and hug him and tell him that it's okay and that everyone has bad performances, but I should probably practice what I preach. I just hope that he can pick himself up.
After all the conferences and interviews were finished, I tried to find Shoma but instead ran into Mihoko-sensei.
"Mihoko-sensei, where's Shoma-kun?"
"Oh, he went back to the hotel. He's not taking his performance very well."
"Oh, thank you."
I get back to the hotel at around 6:00 and Javi orders some food up for us.
"Why aren't you with Miki?"
"She's busy right now. We're planning to spend time together after the gala tomorrow."
It must be nice having someone to love. The one I'm in love with isn't even friends with me.
"I feel bad for Shoma." Javi's comment surprises me.
"Huh?"
"It's his first senior Worlds and he couldn't perform at his best. I feel so bad for him."
"Yeah, but he's strong. I know that he'll stand up and try again. At least I hope so?"
"You really care for him, don't you?"
"Wh-what? Of-of course I care, I don't want him to quit because of a bad performance. " I say that way to quickly.
Javi just laughs at me. " You like him don't you."
"Of course! He's a fellow skater."
"No, I mean like you like him."
"What?! No, I don't! I'm not even friends with him!" I realize that I was too defensive. Javi was slamming his hand on the table, laughing his head off.
"No need to get so defensive. I knew you were interested in him right after GPF. if you want to be friends with him, just go up and talk to him."
"It's not that easy. He doesn't open up to me. Every time I talk to him, he ignores me.¨
¨Since when did the great Yuzuru Hanyu give up?¨ I know that he's taunting me but at that moment I decided that I'm going to stop moping around and go and be friends with Shoma Uno.

Next day
I'm such a coward. I was going to talk to him during gala practice but he stood in a corner and was really down. I didn't want to disturb him. Not to mention Javi kept nudging me to talk to him. The gala ended too quickly and I soon lost sight of him.
He showed up at the banquet that night looking so dashing in a suit. It would better in white. With me in a matching one. With gold rings, and flowers, and wedding bells. What the hell? I'm so shaken by my imagination that I didn't realize that he had left. Ugh, every time I get so much as 10 feet near him, he disappears. Honestly, I'm beginning to question if he's also a magician.
I decide to leave the party since it's beginning to get quite boring and Javi and Brian had already left. Picking up a to go box, I starting scooping food in so I could eat dinner in my room. I was too busy talking to sponsor to be able to get dinner. Just as I'm about to leave, I feel a tap on my shoulder.
