I am an hour late in publishing. Sorry, it was a lot more than I planned to write. Ugh, this chapter was hard. I will publish the next one on either Wednesday or Thursday. This was an emotionally charged chapter though.

There are four to five chapters left but they're long. Though I'll probably finish them all by the end of my two-week break.

Thank you for reading and commenting/voting

I rushed to the hospital. It was around 9:00 pm already. Visiting hour was over but I didn't care. I need to see him. I need to.

"I need to see Shoma Uno. Please, I need to see him." I begged the nurse. There was so much desperation in my eyes that the receptionist was almost moved. Almost.

"I'm sorry, Hanyu-senshu, but visiting hours are over. Please come back tomorrow." The lady said politely.

"Please, I need to see him. I need to know if he's alright. Can you at least tell me if he's alright?" I begged and begged.

"I'm sorry Hanyu-senshu but unless you are family or you have permission from a person of authority we can't let you in or allow you to know the status of the patient's health." The lady politely replied.

"It's alright. Let him through. He has my permission." My head shot up. Hiroshi came and dropped off a folder.

"Dr. Takahashi" The nurse bowed

He grabbed my arm and dragged me to the elevator.

 "Thank you," I said.

"No problem. Marianne asked me to get you."

"Is everything ok?"

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "No. Chie broke into the house and tried for kill my wife and child. Nori went after Shoma. Chie's in jail but Nori's on the run."

"What? What happened to Shoma?" Did I want to know the answer? Do I want to know what happened to him? Am I prepared for that?

"He was knocked out by a brick when he was trying to flee. He has a stab wound in the abdomen and the chest. Both are nonfatal. His leg has sustained multiple flesh wounds, likely from the knife that stabbed him in the abdomen. He's received multiple transfusions during surgery and in stable condition right now. He is in a coma right now but he'll be alright." Hiroshi said matter-of-factly.

There was no emotion in his voice. Was he as afraid as I was by seeing his cousin in the hospital? I felt so selfish for getting so worked up and everything. This guy had his house broken into and his wife and child attacked and his cousin is now in a coma.

I'm sick of this game. I don't want to play this game. I'm sick and tired of it. No one should have to play it. It doesn't discriminate against the people that it takes. Man, woman, child. It doesn't matter.

We walk down the hall. Hiroshi directed me to a room reading Room 56. "Shoma is being visited by his family, it would be rude for us to be there at the moment. Marianne would like to see you though."

He opened the door and I stepped in. Beige walls and some machinery. Marianne had an IV running on her right hand. Katsuro had content himself with playing with his mother's necklace.

She looked up and smiled. "Yuzuru. You made it."

I walked up and bowed. "Hello, Marianne-san."

She gave a smaller smile this time. "None of that. If you want to address me politely then call me Doctor. I would at least have earned it."

I straightened up. "Have a seat," she told me.

"Hiroshi, darling. Would you take Katsuro outside and get him to sleep?" She smiled affectionately at her husband and my heart started hurting even more. Without a response, she walked over and picked up his son and gave her a peck on the forehead. Watching the doors closed, she turned to me. I took the seat by her bedside and sat up straight like a student ready for class.
