A few months after the ending of Ash x Serena 1.

(Serena's PoV)

It was just another day waiting at our Pallet town home. I was waiting for Ash to finish with a new challenger and come home for the evening. It always feels so boring and uneventful when he's gone. I can't seem to entertain myself when he's not here. Pallet is small, so there's not a lot of people to socialize with. I guess I'll just end up taking another peaceful walk around the town! I gathered up my keys to the house and some other essentials and headed out.

It was peaceful, just like any other day here in Kanto. There was some overcast, it was predicated to rain this evening. I plan to be back home before then though. I couldn't help but shake the thought that our lives had become boring. We're not even adults yet and we live this adult life. Ash has a job of sorts and I'm like a housewife. The thought once made me ecstatic because it was with Ash, but now this lifestyle repulses me. I want to travel again, like back in Kalos. It was adventurous, not knowing what would happen next. Life now...it's so predictable. Ash leaves for "work," I stay at home and tend to any house chores that need done, cook lunch, then proceed to wait until finally my love comes home. I need a change so desperately.

I got so lost in these disgusting thoughts that I hadn't even realized that I was passing the new Pallet Town Pokémon gym. It's small, just like the town itself. No wonder Ash couldn't wait to leave and start his Pokémon journey. I haven't even lived here a year and this place is driving me insane. I feel bad for him now. I walked past the gym and soon started taking the path that leads back to our humble abode.

This path always relaxes me because it leads right to the spot where Ash and I first met. Even though the circumstances back then were scary and a tad bit painful, I can't help but feel us meeting was destiny. That thought relaxes me. Maybe destiny will even get us out of here soon. A girl can hope.

I soon arrived back home. I unlocked our house and walked inside. I was greeted to the lonesome silence of no other presence beside my own. I sure wish I had my Pokémon right now. Unfortunately, they're with Ash. I thought it best for them to gain battle experience, so Ash is training them. It was a good idea at first until I realized just how lonely I actually am. I sat down on the couch we have in our living room. I laid back and closed my eyes. Maybe a nap is what I need.

I awoke to the slam of the door. It was Ash! He's home! Although...something's off about him. He seems distressed. He looked at me and said the words I never wanted to hear, "Serena, we have to talk."

Well, that's it for the first chapter! I know I said it was gonna be another week or so before I even started writing this but some good ideas came to me and I couldn't pass the opportunity up. With that being said, that's all from me for now. I'll be sure to update soon!
