I awoke the next morning before Ash. As per usual, I heard Ash's stomach growling. Not too surprised. He must have some genetic disorder that makes it to where he never has a full stomach for long. I got up while trying not to disturb him. I'm about to make him and I breakfast before we go to do his errands for the day. Well, his and one of my own. I wonder if we should go to Cerulean city to try and convince Misty to come to Alola? I like the thought of bringing along familiar faces but at the same time, it would be nice to make new friends. It's an ongoing battle in my head. One side just cannot win here.
I made my way to our glorious kitchen. I don't know how we still managed to obtain such a place. This kitchen is huge and state-of-the-art. I went to one of our cupboards and grabbed some pancake mix. Can't go wrong with that, especially in Ash's case. I can make a bulk load of pancakes and Ash will devour them all and still be asking for me. Me? I only have 2-3 depending on the size I make them. I reached for a dish so I could mix the mix and a whisk. I got out the eggs from the refrigerator and placed them with the rest of the ingredients. I grabbed a skillet from another separate cupboard and put it on the burner. I turned it on as I started to mix the ingredients together. After that was done, I began making as many pancakess as I could.
It wasn't long before the cooking scent dragged Ash into the kitchen. "Morning, beautiful," he said with a yawn as he ruffled his bed-head. I replied, "You're up early. Normally I have to literally shove breakfast in your face in bed. Nothing else will wake you. Well, except for one of your loyal companions." I smirked as I watched pikachu sit on the counter next to Ash. "Now Pikachu, what will you be having? The usual?" I went to refrigerator and grabbed the bottle of ketchup labeled "Pikachu," which signified that it was his bottle only and he couldn't use our bottle. I handed Pikachu the bottle and got a gleeful "Pika" in return.
I turned the stove off, as I had finished off all the mix I made. "So, are you ready to go back to exploring, Serena," Ash finally spike after gouging down several pancakes. I nodded, "Of course, doofus. Slow down on those pancakes or you'll make yourself sick. Then we'll be behind another day." Ash did slow down but only for a moment to talk in reply, "Serena, food can't make me sick. Have you seen how much I can devour and how quickly?" I put my hands on my hips to give the annoyed look, "Yes, I have and frankly, it's not normal. It's actually freaky."
Ash rolled his eyes, "Yeah, whatever, Serena. I'll be fine. Why are you worrying all of a sudden?" I sighed then replied, "It's because I can't wait to leave. Kanto and Pallet are driving me literally insane. A couple more weeks and I may have been begging to leave or worse." I shuddered because I knew what worse meant in my mind. It meant leaving Ash. Ash got up from his seat and came behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my neck. It calmed me. "Don't worry, I would never dream of keeping you somewhere you hate being. I just don't understand why you didn't tell me sooner. I would've done something immediately." I leaned back on Ash, "It's because you were so happy here. I couldn't drag you out of a life where you're happy doing what you're doing." Ash kissed me again, "Serena, do I like teaching all these people how to battle pokemon? Yes, I do. Do I enjoy traveling. Yes again. Do you know what I love most though?" I turned around and looked up at him, "Is it food?" Ash shook his head, "No silly, it's you. If I can combine two things I love, it's a deal to me. I'm able to combine traveling and my love for you, Serena."
After hearing that, I kissed Ash's lips. I could taste the syrup and butter that he had been eating. Also a bit of ketchup. I retreated from his lips after that. "Ew, Why did you have ketchup on your pancakes, Ash?" He laughed for a second, "Pikachu put ketchup on them. It was disgusting, but I wanted to finish what my lovely Serena made for me." I felt myself blush as I tried my face. I kissed Ash again, but not on the lips, instead on his cheek. Ash embraced me one more time before going back to what few pancakes he had left. "Hey, Ash, I'm gonna go hop in the shower, ok? You finish up here, then you can come join me, that is, if you want." I winked at him as I started heading to the bathroom.
