At school the next day, Danny Arthur was going even further to try to upset me, or at least it felt like it. At the start he was only saying small things like calling me a geek.
When I didn't react to it at all he said more and more things trying to get a reaction, as if it was a challenge for him or something.
"Hey Nerdy, I heard your parents got divorced, don't they love you anymore?" he asked, turning around and laughing with his friends.
I turned around and sighed, "Danny, please leave me alone."
"What if I don't?" he sniggered walking towards me.
"Just go away." I said quietly.
He stepped closer, "No."
I turned and walked away, "Kay then."
I didn't turn to see him but I could tell by his silence that he was shocked.
I walked to the library and got the next book in the series I was reading. Just as I was getting comfy on the seat, ready to read, the bell rang for third period. We had Chemistry.
I arrived at class early, and sat in a row of three seats, so Nate and Lina would be able to join me.
As the rest of the class filed in, they sat on either side of me. I heard giggles from the crowd of people walking in and saw the Bitch Duo pointing at me and Nate laughing.
"That slut's dating the nerd boy." I heard Reena say.
I laughed loudly and Nate, Lina and the populars looked at me.
"What's so funny?" Nate whispered in my ear.
"Reena called me a slut."
Nate laughed too and said, "That's rich from the girl who's had four boyfriends so far."
We giggled a bit more for a while, until the teacher told us to be quiet. For the remainder of the lesson, we heard whispering about us dating. I got a bit self-conscious but Nate just laughed it off.
When last period came, we had English again.
Danny and I were working on the romance series project. Well, more accurately, I was working and he was texting under the table and listening to music.
"Danny, please help." I said, not for the first time.
When he once again failed to hear me, I yanked the earphones from his ears.
"Hey!" he said, angrily, "What the hell?"
"I refuse to do all the work, help." I said simply.
"No." he replied just as simply, attempting to re-insert his earphones.
I pulled them from his grasp and said, "Yes."
"Nerd queen, give me my earphones now." he said, trying to be menacing.
"No." I said, bored with this argument.
He was trying to stare me down, but I stared right back at him. Our eyes met and I saw the anger in his. I saw it slowly fade and the bored look was back.
"Fine, I'll help." he said, resigned.
However, despite him agreeing to help, I still ended up doing the work.

When I returned home, I got changed and told Mum I'd be at Zane's again.
"What happened?" she asked, immediately worried.
"Nothing, I'm fine, just out if shape. I need practice."
"Alright, be home by seven or you're grounded."
This time when I got to Zane's, he was there, with a student.
"Clo! What's happening to you? Twice in one week? Are you okay?" I laughed.
" I'm fine, I just feel unpractised is all."
"Oh, good. Um this is Matt." he gestured to the student, "Matt, this is Chloe."
"Nice to meet you." I said.
"Yeah, you too."
Zane then said, "Hey Clo, since you're here, you can help me with Matt here. I hurt my knee, so I can't spar him. Can you, please? He needs practice."
"Yeah, sure. What's his level?"
"I'm a beginner." Matt answered for him.
"Okay."
We sparred, I went easy at first, but I went harder and harder each time, so he'd get better.
After a while, he asked for a break and said, " After that you can show me a good round-house. Zane couldn't demonstrate before."
"Yeah sure." I replied, laughing as Zane collapsed down on the floor, "Well since I'm not needed, I'll go to sleep, wake me when you're done."
Sure enough he went right to sleep.
I shook my head and stood up. I demonstrated for Matt a round-house kick and most of the other technique kicks.
At six-thirty I said goodbye and walked home. I arrived right before seven, had a shower, ate dinner and went to bed. I was exhausted.
