I'd just like to clear something up, this story is not based on anything! I make it up as I go along (zozo_janoskians) just so we're clear.

"No." I said for the hundredth time.
Mum and Lina kept showing me short, sparkly, tight dresses that were, forgive my French, slutty.
I picked out jeans and they both hit me upside the head.
I sighed and looked in factorie. They usually have nice dresses. I found a very light pink heart-top dress with spaghetti straps. It was a corset top and it spilled out at my hips, going down to my knees. The bottom was a darker pink, almost fuchsia.
Lina and mum approved whole-heartedly, happy I'd finally found a dress.
By the time we dropped Lina off and went home, it was late, so we ate dinner and went to bed. I slept like the dead for the first time in days.
The next day, the disco was all anyone would talk about. Reena was making the biggest deal about it.
Someone asked her why she was wearing. She refused to answer and suddenly everyone just had to know.
I could tell by the way she was playing the crowd that she would tell them, once she'd had enough of the attention. And by that I mean, never.
Everyone was starting to lose interest, and she knew it. Then she started spilling little hints like colour, length, that sort of thing, to keep them intrigued.
Once half of the day was over, she 'finally' caved and showed everyone pictures of the designer orange dress that she was going to wear. I didn't see it, but all the girls were oohing and ahhing, so either it's a great dress or they don't want to get on her bad side.
For the entire remainder of the day, I sat with Nate in the Library. We were now both rereading the Morganville vampires. We spent every lunch in there.
Lina wasn't at school, I don't know why. I think she was getting her hair done for the disco. Reena left halfway during last period for that. I sincerely hoped Lina wasn't sick, she was really looking forward to this dance.

After school
------------
As soon as I arrived home after school, mum started fussing about me. She did my hair and even insisted on me wearing makeup.
I agreed reluctantly, knowing how happy it would make her.
My hair, she curled. But she only curled the top layer, leaving the underneath straight. It looked really nice. She added a pink headband with a sparkly butterfly on it.
She only put a very small amount of makeup on my face, less than Reena wears each day to school.
Finally I put on my dress, by which time it was 6:00 and the disco was in 30 minutes.
I slipped on my pink ballet flats, and we got in the car and left.
-------------
The disco was very interesting. I arrived and for some reason, I was expecting it to be louder and there to be more talking.
For some reason, everyone was quietly staring at the door. Maybe I'm just inexperienced with these things, but that seemed strange. I looked behind me to see what they were looking at and saw Reena.
She had Kyle on her arm(who knew that was a thing) and she looked pretty.
The only problem was, she always had makeup and did something to her hair, so the only difference was the dress.
