All weekend I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened on the phone with Danny.
My mum could tell something was up, but she didn't ask. Her and Colin were becoming serious and I was less opposed to it now, Dad was happy too.
I went to school on Monday after that whole weekend of thinking, with one sole purpose in mind, I would figure out what was happening with me and Danny.
I got to school and everyone was gossiping about the dance. Amidst all the other things I had almost forgotten Danny and I had danced. But apparently, it was still the talk of the whole school.
I didn't see Danny until we were in English together working on the project.
He kept glancing at me, but made no move to kiss me. Halfway through the lesson he spoke up.
"Okay, so I thought I wouldn't remember, like you did, but I do."
I was shocked to say the least. I didn't know what to say. I was expecting him to have forgotten, it would have been less awkward.
I looked up at him and he was staring at me with his big brown eyes. His dirty blonde hair was not gelled up today, it was just falling onto his face.
Why did he have to be so freaking good-looking? It's not fair. I cleared my throat and looked back at my work.
He sighed and ran his fingers messily through his hair.
We worked in silence throughout the rest of the lesson and when the bell rang we were both all too quick to leave.
I got home and did the usual, relaxing to some Bon Jovi.
The next day when I woke up I had made up my mind. I had thought about it all night and knew what I was going to do.
For the first half of the school day, I avoided Danny, and as soon as lunch came I got into the cafeteria late.
I seek Danny out see him lounging by his table on the wall.
I walked over to him, obviously and purposely. The cafeteria quietened down at the prospect of something interesting happening.
As I approached, he looked up and saw me. By the time, he did, he was only a few feet away. I covered that distance quickly and just as I reached him, I smashed my lips to his.
At first he was too shocked to do anything, but then he wrapped his arms around me and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He kissed me back passionately.
After a few seconds, he broke away and I said breathlessly, "I made my choice."
At that he kissed me again, softer this time. After we broke from that one he whispered, "Good choice."
And we lived happily ever after. Well, for now, I'm still in high school.
