Friday
My alarm went off and I groaned. I had stayed up all night reading and was extremely tired.
After managing to get out of bed and getting ready for school, I started walking.
I arrived only just on time because I'd slept in. I barely had time to get my books before the bell rang, signalling the start of home room.
My class was extremely loud, as usual. The only people I couldn't hear talking was Lina and Nate. Unfortunately, they were talking to me.
When the teacher finally managed to get us to quieten down, she told us that there was going to be a math competition soon, and it was mandatory for each class to have a team of four players to compete.
The bell rang for first period, leaving me wondering who would be on our team.
Third period today, we had maths. Instead of work, we spent most of the lesson figuring out who the participants from our class would be.
It took this long because the kids in our class decided to take advantage of the situation and get out of work for as long as possible.
Eventually the teacher got them to shut up and chose the four people who got the highest grades in the last test.
So our class's were Me, Nate, a boy named Mike, and Kyle. I couldn't believe Kyle was on the team too, I guess he's more than a mean, popular kid.
"Oh, hell no!" Kyle exclaimed, "you can't make me."
Or not. The teacher yelled at Kyle that it was mandatory and he eventually agreed, unhappily.
Our first meeting was tomorrow.

We had English once again for last period, and Danny Arthur was just as insufferable as ever.
His earphones and iPod were confiscated within the first five minutes, so he was resigned to helping me.
"The story's about a girl who's never been bad in her life, and she meets a boy who's always doing the wrong thing. At first, they hate each other but eventually," Danny interrupted me there.
"Yeah, yeah, they fall in love, go through disgusting mushiness and live happily ever after. I get it, we're writing a cliche love story."
"It might be cliche, but it's romantic and beautiful.."
"Mushy and dull."
I groaned, "Whatever, but we're writing this so help."
"I refuse to be a part of this nerdily girly mess of a book."
"Can't you just help, Danny? Why are you making just a big deal out if it? I thought you didn't care what we wrote."
"I don't."
"So help."
He sighed, "Fine."
Just then, the teacher interrupted, as the class was almost over.
"Class, there will not be enough time throughout the term to complete this project unless you do some at home. I suggest that you take it upon yourself to organise meet-ups so you may work on it."
Danny sat up straight and spoke straight to me, "You are not coming to my house."
"Fine, come to mine."
"Where?"
I gave him my address.
Then he asked me when. I shrugged.
"How about tonight?"
"I can't, sorry."
"Why? Do you have a date?" He laughed at his obviously hilarious joke.
"Yes, as a matter fact."
He didn't even try to hide his surprise. Then he decided I must be lying and replied, "Yeah, right. Look, I'm coming tonight."
I was about to argue when the bell went and the entire class practically ran from the room.

As soon as I got home from school, Mum showed me a new outfit she'd bought me.
It was a really pretty yellow dress that hugged my curves at the top, until the waist. From there it was puffy and went to just above my knees. The neckline was a v-line but it wasn't low. It showed almost no cleavage. There was a line of little roses from my left shoulder to the left side of my waist.
In short, it was the girliest thing I own besides the pink flowery dress from when I was five.
Mum insisted I where it for my date and I agreed. Honestly, I thought it was beautiful and looked forward to wearing it.
Mum also did my hair. She made waves so it was curly but not too curly.
Just as I was ready, the doorbell rang. I went and opened it, expecting to see Nate. Instead, I saw Danny.
He stared at me in shock, eyeing me up and down.
"It's a bit fancy for a study meet, isn't it?" he shook his head, "I knew you wanted to impress me."
I barely heard him as he let himself in, "Danny! I told you, I have a date."
"Are you sticking with that?" He said still not believing me, "Oh I get it, you're supposedly going on a date but he won't show, and you'll be stuck looking all pretty."
"Actually, I really have a d... wait did you just call me pretty?" I asked, surprised.
"I knew it! You just want to imp..." just then the doorbell rang again and I went and got it.
Nate was standing at the door. When he saw me, his eyes widened. He opened his mouth to say something when he saw Danny.
Danny was looking from me to Nate and a look of realisation crossed his face, followed by shock, "Holy crap, you actually have a date?"
"First, please watch your language and second, I told you that I had a date. Now can you please go home?" I said quietly.
"Chloe, what's going on?" I heard Nate ask.
I told him how Danny let himself in and everything that had happened.
Then Danny left and we were free to go. We walked to Nate's dad, in his car. Nate opened the back seat door for me. I got inside and he shut the door. He got in the other side and sat next to me.
His dad, Kevin, laughed at Nate as I said hi.
Now, before you ask, Kevin is our chaperone. I know, it's kind of lame but we're still pretty young. We're going to dinner and he will sit at a different table at the restaurant. My mum insisted we have a chaperone so Nate doesn't 'try anything'.
The date was really nice, we both ordered and we accidentally ordered the same thing. We even got dessert.
On the way home, we sat together in the car and laughed about anything and everything.
He walked me to my door and we stopped. I was looking into his eyes when he leaned in and kissed me gently on the cheek.
The second date was even better than the first.
