The first class of the day started like any other, Nate and I were next to each other reading 'Son of Neptune'. I'm beating him. Then Lina came over to us. She looked completely lost because Reena and Tina had wagged school together without her.
"What do you want?" I asked her, looking up.
"I just... I wanted to... ugh, I was wondering if I could... you know... hang out with you guys today?" she stuttered.
"You want to hang out with us nerds?" I said, doing my best to keep a sort-of angry straight face.
She looked even more uncomfortable, " Yea well, umm... never mind, see ya." she sulked away
"hey, come back I was joking." I called.
"That's not very nice." she frowned
"Yea, sorry." I really hated being mean.
"Ha, got you back." she laughed evilly, rubbing her hands together like a comic book villain.
"You seem uncharacteristically nerdy today."
"I'm nerdy everyday."
"Prove it."
"Test me."
"Superheroes vs supermodels?"
"Easy, superheroes."
"5th Harry Potter book?"
"Order of the Phoenix."
"Spell manoeuvre."
"M, A, N, O, E, U, V, R, E."
"Okay, I believe you."
She, Nate and I all laughed and suddenly I thought, 'meanwhile in a parallel universe where Lina is nice?"
We hung out for the rest of the day, but I still wasn't sure I could trust that she wasn't pranking us or something. I know it sounds mean, but she's part of the Bitches Three, I couldn't trust her that easily.
