Alex
At lunch I told Emma and max about what happened with Zoey.
"She was really rude." Emma said setting down her try, "Its like she hated me- I don't even know her."
"She hates you because your friends with me." I said letting out a deep breath, "Their stupid don't mind them."
"Oh I won't." Emma laughed.
"Besides the Zoey problem how'd it go with Ethan? He seems cool." Max added.
"I mean.. I guess he's pretty chill." I said not really knowing how to describe him.
"Are you guys cool?" Emma asked.
"I don't.. I mean we talked for a short while but I had a boyfriend and brushed him off so that was the end of that."
"Didn't you have the biggest crush on him?" Max blurted.
"What? How did you know that?"
"I sat behind you and Zoey in homeroom since freshman year. By the way you guys have no idea how to whisper." Max laughed.
I looked down embarrassed, "Yeah but that's over with." I said looking over to him with his arm around Alexandria.
"Are you okay with that? Him with.. her." Max said clearly remembering what happened freshman year.
"I mean it's whatever. Although I wish it'd be someone other that her.. I guess I'm fine with it- or can be fine with it."
"Hang in there girl." Emma said giving me a supporting shoulder nudge.
"I am."
After lunch, me and Max dropped Emma off at her class and then continued walking since we had the same class this period. This was the class I had with Alexandria too. Yesterday I don't even think she noticed me and I hope it stays that way. I'm not even sure why she's still here, wasn't she supposed to graduate last year? I got into the class taking my seat next to Max. We talked for a while until class started. The teacher started hanging out syllabuses which just consisted of what we'd be learning throughout the year, boring stuff. As he went over it it I found myself zoning out.
"Alex." I heard. I lifted my head and saw my teacher had called my name. I jumped up, "Yes. Sorry."
"You need to know this stuff stop staring into space." She said strictly.
I nodded embarrassed.
"Probably thinking about the friends she doesn't have." I heard from the back of the room followed by a giggle. I turned confused and then it made sense, Alexandria. She saw me staring and gave me a turn the hell around look and I just turned away.
"I guess she's still a bitch." Max whispered. I nodded letting out a small laugh looking at my paper. The class flew by faster than expected and while I was packing Alexandria felt the need to stop me.
"Hey Alex!" She said perkily, "Long time no talk."
"Yeah. Speaking of which why are we even talking- weren't you supposed to graduate?"
"That's beside the point." She said putting on an angry face, "What I came to say was simply sorry."
"Sorry?" I asked confused, "Ha yeah 3 years too late."
"Not about that!" She exclaimed, "You still haven't let that go? Yikes Al, it's not good holding onto grudges."
"Don't.. don't call me Al." I said looking at her weirdly.
"I'm saying sorry for you loosing Zoey, and also stealing your man. Wow I kind of took away everything from you, my bad." She said followed by a small chuckle, "But it's senior year let's just be friend k!"
"Alexandria I literally heard you talking about me in the back of the class just a few minutes ago."
"Was I? Oh." She said acting clueless.
"Yeah you were." I said shooting her a duh look, "What are you really here for? To continue what you started back in freshman year- well hey I'm over it so you can take my best friend and you can definitely keep Ethan I don't care. I don't need any of you so get out of my way." I snapped. Max gave me a shocked look and so did Alexandria. I never really stood up for myself like that, but I was just angry.
"Come on Max." I said pushing past Alexandria.
"That was legendary!" Max commented, "I doubt she'll cross your path again."
"What happened?" Emma asked catching up with us.
"Alex snapped at Alexandria." Max said.
"It was nothing." I laughed, "She's just so annoying and stuck-up. Her apology wasn't even sincere and it ticked me off. Hopefully I don't have to talk to her for the rest of the year."
After school, Max and I walked home since he lived not too far from me. As we walking Justin face timed me.
"Oh hey it's Justin." I said to max. I answered with a smile making sure Max was in the frame.
"Hey Ale- hey Alex and other guy." He said laughing.
"Hey this is Max." I said smiling, "One of the friends I was telling you about."
"Oh hey." He said warmly, "What are you guys doing?"
"Walking home. Alexandria spoke to me today too."
"What really?" Justin asked shocked.
"Yep Alex really gave her a piece of her mind." Max added.
"Oh really." Justin said raising an eyebrow, "What did you do?"
"Max is over exaggerating it really wasn't that big of a deal. I just heavily implied that she needed to never talk to me again."
"That's my girl." He said with a smile.
I smiled back brightly, "So when does your flight leave to New York?"
"Few hours. I actually just finished packing."
"You're gonna have a blast!"
"Hey I'm gonna go spend time with my orients before I leave then I'll text you when I get on the plane."
"Sounds good. Love you!"
"Love you too." I ended the call happily.
"Love you. Love you too." Max mocked, "Is that the famous boyfriend?"
"Ex- boyfriend." I said a little sadly, "But yeah that's him."
"Decided not to do long distance?" He asked.
"Yeah it's just better y'know?" I said looking at Max.
"Agreed."
