I wake up yawning, such a peaceful night. I look around, Mommy and Daddy weren't in bed but I hear the cling of pans from downstairs. I race down the stairs yelling "BREAKFAST TIME" The kitchen erupts in laughter.
"It's 10 o clock! Someone slept well." My mom says, scrubbing pots and pans. I frowned to see that breakfast was not being made. "What's for breakfast? I ask, sitting on the bar stool. "We thought we could go out for breakfast today. Because on monday, you're going to third grade!" Daddy says.
I frown. "But I'm 7!" I say. "You turn 8 tomorrow munchkin!" My eyes lit up. "All I heard was cake!" I shout excitedly. They laugh and shoo me upstairs. "Go get dressed!"
-Time Skippiness!! Ya that's right, I still do that-
"Sing something, Alex!" Mommy says.
You're staring out the window, I'm out here in the street. You're standing like a scarecrow I'm begging you to speak. You used to be my salygraham I'm drowning in the sea, I just wanna believe in you and me! I just wanna believe in you and me.
"Keep going!" Daddy says. "I don't know the rest!" I giggle. "Try somethig else."
When I was 6 years old, I, broke my leg. I was running from my brother and his friends. I tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain as I rolled down. I was younger then, take me back to when, I. Found my heart broke it here, made friends and lost them through the years. And I've not seen the roaring feilds, and so long oh how I've grown, I can't wait to go home.
I'm on my way! Driving at 90 down those country lanes, singing to tiny dancer and I miss the way you make, me feel, it's real. We, watch the sunset... over the castle on the hill.
"You have a beautiful voice, baby." Mommy says, helping me out of the car and holding my hand as we cross the street to iHop. I hopped up and down, the new iHop in town was glutton free! "Pan-cakes! Pan-cakes!" I chant as we walk through the street with mommy and daddy.
When we approached the front desk, the lady says "Welcome to iHop! Glutton free edition!"
"Thank god, we've been looking for a glutton free place forever. Our daughter has a rare glutton sensitivity." Mommy says. I grow uncomfortable as the woman looks at me weirdly, she seemed to notice my slightly bloated stomach. Daddy shuffled in front of me, seeing where her gaze was drifting. "Would you like a table?" She asks. "Y-" I pushed through my parents and said "No, actually, carpet for 3 please?" I retort. "Alex!" Mommy says, Daddy just laughs.
"Yes we'd like a table." Mommy says, holding back a laugh, it was obvious. The lady guided us to our table, and when she was gone, Mommy burst into a fit of laughter. "You're not even grounded."

I stare nervously at the plate of pancakes. "They're glutton free... right?" I gulp. "Yep, definetely glutton free." My mom says through pancakes. "I ordered glutton pancakes, but I guess they don't do glutton." Daddy says.
I smiled and took a bite. Headache! "Oh gosh!" I yell, my somach twisting, I spit the pancakes out and run to the trash can next to our table and herl.
"Alex!"
"Oops, I guess I did get my glutton pancakes." Daddy says. "My bad."
"Pat!! Ugh!!" She hugs me, and presses her hand to my forehead. "No fever, that's good. I have your medicine on me, Alex." She pulls out a syringe and sticks it in my wrist.
I yelp as she brings a container of pills from her bag and gives me some water. "Here, you can have my pancakes sweetie." Daddy says, I shake my head. "The doctor said that a side affect for the pills is loss of appetite, and to take it only ine every three days unless of emergencyies, for example false pancakes."
I wipe my mouth with a napkin as they pile some glutton free pancakes in the to go box and head for the car.
The rest of the ride was full of laughter and jokes.
-
"So I just got off the phone with your doctor, Alex." Mommy says, coming in as I finish some pancakes. It was a snack because I got hungry after an hour. "Did he say I could attend school?" I ask hopefully. "Yes- but there's a catch. After I told Doctor Sandchez about what happened at iHop, he said he didn't realize how bad it was. He said it's getting stronger and could affect your breathing. So for the next month or so, you have to sleep with a BiPAP. And... you have to have a cannula for a few weeks. But only for a few weeks!" "Mommy! A cannula?" I moan.
She nods and sighs. Daddy comes in with a box. "The BiPAP's here." He says. I moan. "C'mon kiddo, it'll be fine!" He cooes. "The cannula's only for a few weeks, and the BiPAP is going to help you. For now let's go for a walk! Let's go get active! No, no, we should go to the PARK!" he announces as if it was the biggest theory of the universe. "Sounds great!" I sprang up. My mom nods and we all run toward the car.
