Jalen's forearm smashed against my windpipe, making me whimper in pain as fat tears stroll down my cheeks. She looks at me with her wide eyes, her lip quivering.
All that passes through my mind is that I'll never get to Mommy and Daddy, Pat and Jen, my family. I'll never get to sing a song to them or pull of some jurastic dance move in the kitchen that makes Mommy start panicking, I won't be able to stand up to my sister, look her in the eye and tell her she was wrong about me, all I can do now, is wait.
Jalen sobs and releases my throat, causing me to breathe heavily and start pushing myself away from her. "I couldn't do it, I couldn't do it." She sobs, her hands vibrating intensely in front of her. "My mom, Evangeline, she's gonna kill me for it! She said I would die, she said I would die!" Jalen sobs loudly, clawing wildly at her face as the tears stream down her eyes. I want to feel any sympathy for her at all, but it's hard when you are surrounded by fear, and you're best friend just tried to crush your windpipe. I push myself as far away as I can from her, my chest shaking and my breathing uneven. "Stay away from me, keep away from me! Mommy! Daddy!" I screamed. "Shut up!" Jalen screamed, throwing herself over to me and pressing her palm to my lips. "Shut up, she'll find us and she'll kill us!" Jalen shrieks.
I scramble away from her but she lunges at me, tripping and falling and taking me with her. I scream and my arms flail for something to grab onto as the air wooshes all around us, I find a limb and latch onto it, only a free limbs down from the one we were on. "Jalen? Jalen!" I scream, but her screams are lost when I hear a loud thump, and a small whimper, and then nothing. I cling onto the branch with all my strength, digging my fingernails into the bark and trying to claw my way up, but I keep slipping. "Help me! Help me!" I scream, hearing distant shouts in the background.
"Alex!" I hear in the distance, footsteps patterned below me. "Hang on!"
The branch cracks and starts breaking, loosening my grip and causing me to scream again. The branch breaks and sends me to my inevitable plummet. My hair tangles around my face and tears brim at my eyes, the air is forced out of my lungs and I clamp my eyes shut, prepared for the impact.
Instead, two arms catch me, and my hair stops flying around and peacefully settles on my neck. Air enters my lungs again, and I can't help

An hour, back at Pat and Jen's, Alex was sleeping soundly in her bed, still petrified and shaking from what had happened. What the hell happened?" Jen asked the policemen, who had come to see they got home safely. He looked at them sympathetically.
"Her sister got out of jail, apparently. Evangeline apparently made a deal with her, we're not quite sure what the deal was except that she would help her get Alexandra and she would get something in return, but you don't need to worry ma'am. Your child is safe, both women are in our custody."
The policemen said, Pat and Jen exchanged worried glances.
“And what about the little girl? Jalen? The one who fell from the tree." Jen asked. The policemen sighed and Jen's heart picked up.
"She's going to be alright, her mother was not a good person and mentally abused her, after she gets out of the hostpital she'll see a therapist." He told her, Jen looked relieved. "Thank you sir, for everything." Pat said, sticking out his hand, which the policemen shook. "Take care, I'll keep you updated on the Evangeline situation." And then he was gone.
Pat and Jen sinked onto the couch, emotionally exhausted. "This is insane. thank god it's all over." Jen said, running her hands over her face. Pat rubs her shoulder comfortingly and kisses her cheek. "Yeah. Now we can still be a normal dysfunctional YouTube family." Pat said jokingly.
"I wouldn't say normal, but making less peculiar." Jen said, crossing her arms. "Im never letting Alex out of the house until she's eighteen though." Jen said, Pat nodded, only slightly amused.
"Agreed." He said.
