Chapter 3

At the mall

"Does it really matter??" Daddy groans. Me and mommy say at the same time "Yes!" We chorus. He groans. "Why don't we get both?" He says, I can tell he hates shopping. "Ah! I like the blue ones because of the pink top. It'll be a good outfit with the peach leggings." Mommy says. I nod in agreement. Daddy shouts "Finally!!" Mommy tosses the convers into the basket. "Are we done yet?" Daddy complains. "Nope!" Mommy says. He facepalms.

Time Skip

"Are. We. Done." Daddy says. Mommy nods and laughs. He cheers. "Yes! Finally." He moans. We walked to the cashier, they spent 158 dollars and 69 cents. The car ride home was filled with laughter, I drifted of to sleep before we got home.

Mommy gently shakes me awake, she carries me in the house and by the time she sets me down I'm already fully energized. I front walk over to the stairs. Daddy tossed me my one piece swimsuit [picture] I ran out to my room at the top of the stairs. I quickly changed to see Mommy downstairs started up a camera, she smiles at me. "Hey Alex! We about to do a little vlog, wanna join? Figured I'd introduce you." She says, I get really excited. "Yes! Thanks so much!" I say. She nods, then starts up the camera. I'm not in the shot yet. Daddy says "Hey what's going on guys and welcome to another vlog!" He says, Mommy holds the camera out. "Today we gonna introduce one of the most important people in my life. C'mon Alex!" She says, I skip into the view of the camera and wave in my cute swimsuit. "Hi! My name is Alexandra. But most people call me Alex." I say cutely. Mommy says "We just adopted this little angel, and she's amazing, wanna sing something Alex?" Daddy says. I nod. "I got my ticket for the long way round. Two bottles o' whiskey for the way.. and I sure would like some sweet company cause I be leaving tomorrow what do you say?" I sing. My dad claps and lifts me on top of his shoulders. I giggle and Mommy laughs. "Well we gonna go get to that beach now!" Mommy emphasizes. "See ya later doods!" Daddy says. Then she cuts the camera. "Ready to go pumpkin?" Daddy says. I nod, swinging my legs. "You're gonna kick me in the face Alex!" Daddy tells, tickling my feet, I giggle, then I hop down. Mommy grabs my hand and throws me into the car, I giggle. "C'mon Pat!" Mommy tells. "Coming!" He says, throwing the beach bag in the car next to me then plops in the front seat. "Lezzgo!" Daddy shouts.

Time Skip!!!! Sorry but I don't feel like typing the rest of the car ride.

"Yay we're here!" I yell. I ran out of the car and kicked off my sandals. I run barefoot in the sand. I do a round off back hand spring and leap. My mommy tells for me to be carefull and slow down so I trot over to them. "Can I get into the water!! Please!" I beg. "Hold one pumpkin, lemme get some sunscreen on you." He says, shaking up a deal of sunblock. I moan. "Ok..." after hes done I run into the water, diving in fast. "Wooooo!" I yell. Daddy comes in and I splash him. "Awww come on." He says. He dives in the water where I can't see him. Next thing I knew he popped out from under me where I was sitting on his shoulders. He threw me in the air with a big splash in the water. Mommy laughed. I come up and spit water out of my mouth, Daddy laughs. So I laugh, we all splash and joke and have fun for a while, after about a half hour later we all sit on the beach towel.

Jen's POV. Won't be switching that often. AFTER BEACH

I'm getting worried about Alex. She's been getting random stomach aches and coughs. We're scheduled to see the doctor this Friday. She's only been here for 3 and a half days and I think she's getting sick. Just gotta hang in there, it's Wednesday.

Alex's POV dinner

"Mommy!" I yell, crying. She runs to me as I sit on the stair case. Daddy is making dinner. She picks me up. My tummy was really hurting. "What's wrong, baby?" She says, cradling me in her arms. "M- m- m- my tummy- y." I carry on. She sighs and puts her hand on my head. "Gosh honey you're burning up!" She says, I feel like I'm losing energy to cry, so I silently sob. "Pat get in the car right now! We're going to the hospital! Now!" My mommy says. I whimper. She whispers into my ear. "It's ok baby, you're gonna be alright. Shhhh." My dad runs out of the kitchen, he opens the door for Mommy, and she sits in the back seat of the car. She strokes my hair as I slowly drift off.

Jen's POV

I frantically tell Pat to hurry up, he's trying. I don't what'll happen but I'm not losing her. I see a pale faced Alex and a horrified Pat, and I can feel my fear. "Please hurry Pat." I whisper and connect my forehead with her's.

Pat's POV

I drive as fast as I can, hot tears stain my cheeks, Jen tells me to hurry, every once in a while I get a glimpse of Alex in the rear view mirror of Alex's pale face. C'mon Pat, hurry up. You're daughter's hurting. I tell myself. I step on it. I'm definitely not letting her go on my watch. Alex whimpers, that did it. I floored it.
