2 Weeks Later, Mixed Classes, Substituting For Hagrid

*Hermiones POV*

I woke up today feeling less than excited about today, today I have to teach Harrys D.A.D.A class, during my free period, as well as substitute with Charlie for Hagrid. Sadly Harry's sick, and while he's sick he's trying to help Ginny plan their wedding, Hagrid is sick and in the hospital. According to Poppy, he's going to be out of work for the next few days so I have to help Charlie with his classes. It's been two weeks since Charlie and I talked in my chambers, since then not much has happened between us. He and I have been in a rut of sorts, we've gone back to constantly fighting and not wanting anything to do with eachother. I love him and I know that he loves me, I'm just waiting for him to make his move. Hopefully he makes it soon, I don't know how much more of this I can take. I sighed getting out of bed taking a quick shower before blow drying my hair, and doing my usual make-up routine. I then pulled on a black button up shirt, with dark wash ripped skinny jeans, and my usual knee high black tie boots. I grabbed my leather jacket and wand sheath wrapping it around my waist before walking down to the D.A.D.A room. When I walked into the room I sighed looking at the returning fourth years and letting out a sigh, I stood at the front of the room shaking my head.

"Alright, that's enough."

They all looked up at me and I sighed once again.

"Now, Professor Potter sent me an owl last night telling me that you have a lesion with Professor Weasely. Now he also said that if any of you can't handle this then you are to be sent to Headmistress McGonagall, and have house points removed. Where we are going is dangerous, you need to listen to Professor Weasely and I, that's all there is to it, am I understood?"

I got numerous head nods and yes professors from the students. I nodded my head and motioned towards the door telling everyone to head down to Hagrids cottage so we could meet up with Charlie. When we got there Charlie was standing outside the hut in a button up grayish brown shirt with a pair of dark black skinny jeans, a brown leather jacket and brown steel toe boots. I sighed looking away and shaking my head, he looks good, I'll give him that, but he's an ass hole. If he doesn't fix this, if he doesn't pull his head out of his ass, he's going to lose everything. I was pulled from my thoughts by a light hand being placed on my shoulder and the students walking into the forest. I looked up into the Weasely blue eyes that I have fallen for multiple times and shook my head. I walked out of his hold and followed the students into the forest. We walked around a bit and soon Charlie came up next to me.

"Hermione will you please talk to me?"

I sighed.

"What do you want me to say, I wanted you to at least try, and you haven't, we're at work now. Our students are in a dangerous place and now we have to take care of them..."

Before I could finish what I had to say an ear splintering scream was heard through the forest. A bright blue light that I know only too well as a patronus charm being casted. I ran towards it to see one of my Gryffindor's with her wand up, I smiled at her and she shyly walked towards me. She looked down and she reminded me of well, me, except I was never shy of my powers, I smiled at her and kneeled down a bit.

"Why are you shy?"

She looked up at me.

"Aren't I in trouble? I used my magic without permission."

"No, you're not in trouble, you protected yourself and your friends, never apologize or be shy about that. You did the right thing, the courageous thing, the smart thing, I'm proud to have you as a member of my house."

She smiled and I stood up letting out a sigh looking at everyone else.

"I'm proud of all of you, you stayed calm, however I hope that Professor Potter when he returns teaches you all the power and magic that this young lady showed today. From this point on stay in groups, stay in sight, don't go too far, the Centaurs may be around to help but they are not responsible for you as Professor Weasely and I are."

They all nodded their heads and we continued the class, before heading back to the castle. I watched the students go in while I went to Hagrids hut to see Charlie sitting at the table. I sighed and closed the door behind me, I looked at him and shook my head, he stood up and walked towards me.

"You told me that you needed time, space, that's all I was trying to do, I love you Hermione, I just want you to be happy."

I sighed nodding my head.

"I didn't need two weeks' time, I just needed you to figure out what you really want."

He was about to say something when the voices of his students were heard. I sighed, and opened the door walking out to meet them. They all looked at me with confused looks on their faces, that is until Charlie stepped out.

"You all know Professor Granger, she is substituting for Hagrid, today we have a meeting with the Centaurs, lets go."

We walked through the woods until we came to where Harry had his second run in with Voldemort. When he found him feeding on the blood of a unicorn, I sighed as a chill ran up my spine, and I saw Firenze emerge from the trees. He gave me a small curt nod and I smiled at him before he looked at the students and started teaching. When the lesion was over Charlie took the students back to the castle while I stayed to talk to Firenze for a moment.

"How have you been?"

He gave me a small smile.

"Better, since the end of the war, I was getting tired of saying no, to death eaters."

"Believe me I understand where you're coming from, I remember running through these woods fighting. You saved me, I never got to thank you, or even ask you why?"

He sighed, shaking his head.

"You're most welcome, Ms. Granger, and as far as why you have always been kind and understanding to those of us in these woods. I could never let someone with such a heart, and such kindness be killed, without a proper reason, blood status doesn't matter any longer."

"Firenze, thank you, I will always defend those of these woods."

He gave a curt nod and I headed out of the woods and to Charlie's shared hut, I walked in and once again he was sitting at the table. He stood up and I rushed to him, crashing my lips to his, he wrapped his arms around my waist holding me close. When we pulled away he leaned his forehead against mine and I looked into the eyes of the man I love, I shrugged my shoulders.

"I got tired of waiting for you to get off your ass."

He smiled and I knew that things were about to change.

"Hermione, what are we?"

"Together, we're together, if you still want that."

He smiled once again before tightening his hold on me and lifting me from the ground spinning me around. I couldn't help the laughs and giggles that rolled off my lips, he kissed my cheek and held me close.

"I love you."

He set me down and looked at me before crashing his lips to mine, when we pulled away he smiled once again.

"I love you Hermione."

I knew then that my life was going to be different, but I knew that he and I would get through this.
