Waking Up, Relief, 3 More Months

*Hermiones POV*

I woke up today in the Hogwarts hospital with a thick bandage wrapped around my forearm. I sat up a bit placing my hand on my still swollen belly with a small sad smile on my race, it was then that Poppy came over giving me a bright smile.

"Oh, you're finally awake, everyone is going to be so thrilled, I just sent Sirius upstairs for a shower. He hasn't left your side since he woke the other night, that's kind of how he knew that you were still alive."

"Well, then I guess I'll wait for him to get back to start asking any questions."

She gave me a small sad smile shaking her head.

"Hermione, you're alright, your baby is alright, it was just stress."

I let out a jagged tear filled sigh and rested my head back on the pillow as slow tears slid down my cheek. I laid there for a moment before Sirius came in, he looked at me and I saw tears in his eyes. He rushed to me wrapping his arms around me holding me close, that's when Poppy came back giving us a small smile. I smiled looking up at Sirius, he leaned his forehead against mine looking into my eyes. I couldn't help but relax into his hold letting out a small sigh before opening my eyes looking into his stormy gray eyes.

"Did you hear the news?"

He shook his head against mine and as I looked into his eyes all I could see was hope and fear.

"Is it bad?"

"No, we still have our baby."

He smiled with tears in his eyes letting out a breath of relief as he looked into my eyes, shaking his head.

"I thought I was going to lose you, I thought I was going to lose both of you."

I took his face in my hands and he caught sight of the large amount of gauze on my forearm covering my scar. He took my wrist in his hand before bringing my forearm to his lips placing a small kiss over the injured area. I gave him a small smile while he removed his hand from my wrist placing it on my round belly, I smiled resting my head on his chest. I heard him let out a sigh and felt him kiss the top of my head before pulling away. I looked up at him and he looked at me with a small sad look.

"What's wrong Sirius?"

"I'm so sorry, this is all my fault if I hadn't become an auror, you never would've been there and we wouldn't be laying here in a hospital bed. None of this would've happened if I would've just listened to you and let this go, I'm so sorry Hermione."

I sighed, shaking my head knowing that this was wrong, he shouldn't feel bad for following his dream. I love him and I know that while being an auror is dangerous, it's also what makes him happy, I could never take that away from him. I gave him a small sad smile shaking my head taking his hand in mine. I placed a small kiss on his bruised beaten knuckles letting out a sigh before pulling away. He looked down at his hands and I placed my hand under his chin raising his eyes to meet mine.

"Sirius, this isn't your fault, you love being an auror, you love your job, granted it's not the safest, but it makes you happy. That's all I care about, I just want you to be happy, so don't feel bad. Even if it were just Harry that was taken, Ginny, you, and I would've been the first at the manor no matter what it took. I love you and I have never seen anyone as happy as you the day you walked into our home lifting me from the ground saying you got the job with Harry. You were so happy, and I would rather see you happy than live the rest of my life missing that smile. I love you Sirius, and being an auror has given you a new light, being an auror makes you light up and it's the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I don't want to miss a single day of that, I don't want you to lose your light when you had just gotten it back."

He gave me a small smile nodding his head pulling me into his chest the best he could without hurting my belly.

"Are you sure?"

I smiled nodding my head.

"Yes, without a doubt, do what you love, it'll be okay, and if I have to I'll just save your ass again."

"Well I'd love to be doing you, however I think I'll hold off till this little one pops out, and you didn't save my ass."

I scoffed, shaking my head.

"You're so full of shit, without Ginny and I Kingsley would've never even looked at Malfoy manor, let alone send a group of aurors after you. The only reason he sent the aurors was because I told him that Ginny and I were going with or without his help. He sent them there to arrest Ginny and I for trespassing until he realized that we were right. I'm not an idiot, I know what happened and the only reason you don't like this situation is because I'm right once again."

He chuckled, shaking his head wrapping his arms around my waist before kissing my forehead.

"Alright, whatever you say Hermione, let's get some rest we've had a hard few days."

I sighed nodding my head as we laid there resting together knowing that tomorrow we would be able to get back to our regular lives. As I laid there my eyes began to drift closed, sleep beginning to take me into it's welcomed arms I couldn't help but think about my baby. In just three months I'm going to be a new mother holding her baby in her arms. I honestly can't wait to be a mom, and I know that Sirius can't wait to be a dad. As I drifted to sleep with the thoughts of being a parent running through my head and Sirius' arms wrapped around my waist.
