*Hermiones POV*
It's been two weeks since Sirius moved into my chambers and since then things have been really hard for me. Every moment that I spend with him I find my heart pulling me towards him. I'm trying so hard to keep things together, to keep Charlie and I together, but nothing I do seems to work. Since Sirius got here Charlies been really cold towards me. He keeps his sentences short and to the point, he doesn't kiss me at meals, or hold my hand through the halls, and he doesn't come to see me during our free periods. If things don't change then I know that things are over and that I have to let him go, I can't keep this up, it hurts too much. I was pulled from my thoughts by Minerva calling my name. I looked up at her and she gave me a small smile and I knew that it was my turn to stand and give the announcements. I sighed standing from my seat and walking to the podium, as I looked out at my students with a fake smile plastered on my face.
"Alright, good morning everyone, I'm here to announce that tonight is the first annual Hogwarts Remembrance Ball. This ball is to celebrate the lives of those we lost not only in the Battle of Hogwarts but in the second and final war against Voldemort. I hope to see all of you there, ladies be dressed in your finest gowns, gentlemen in your finest suits and dress robes. Your parents will be sending your things at lunch, thank you and enjoy your day."
With that I went back to my seat between Sirius and Charlie, I looked at Minerva shaking my head. Ever since she found out that he's here because in some way I love him, she and Harry have been trying to get us together. I sighed looking at Charlie, I went to take his hand in mine and he pulled his from me. I looked away in sorrow before standing up and taking Charlie's ear in my hand, dragging him from the great hall. I took him up to my chambers and closed the door behind us, he stood there rubbing his ear and shaking his head.
"What the fuck is wrong with you Hermione?"
"You, god Charlie, do you even want this anymore, do you even want me anymore?"
He sighed.
"Of course I want you."
"Really? Because you sure as fuck don't act like it."
He sighed, shaking his head.
"Hermione, it's just hard right now."
"Why? Because Sirius is here, that's no reason to be treating me the way you are, you're so cold to me. Giving me one word answers, you don't kiss me before or after meals, you don't hold my hand as we walked through the halls, and you don't visit me during free periods. I don't know what's gotten into you, but if things don't change we're done, I'm gone."
He smirked.
"We'll be done, and you'll be with him."
"Ya know with you being a child lately maybe is time for me to upgrade to a man, we're done."
I sighed, slipping the ring from my finger and into the pocket of his tan leather jacket before walking out of the room. As I walked through the halls I heard rushed footsteps behind me. I sighed pulling my wand turning to see Charlie standing there. I put my wand away and looked at him shaking my head wondering what the hell is wrong with him.
"What do you want Charlie?"
He sighed.
"I know I've been a dick lately and you deserve more than that, I'm sorry, but please don't do this. Hermione think about it, do you really think that whatever it is with Sirius is really going to work?"
I sighed, shaking my head.
"Charlie, whatever it is with Sirius and I is love, that's why he's still here because we love eachother. I just didn't know how much I truly loved him till you were a dick and made me realize that he's never treated me that way. I can't keep fighting with you and trying to make something work that clearly doesn't, I'm sorry Charlie."
