Sorry for the long wait, I went to Paris for a week, where we had a (minor) car accident, I got grounded the week after that, and then I had a psychotic stalker I needed to take care of, I'm not kidding, it feels impossible to have this much bad luck, but yeah, it's been a terrible month. Also, I'm grounded for two more weeks, so updates will be slow. I'll probably stop updating when the third season comes out. I feel awful.

An excerpt from the Mewni Book of Law:

The Butterfly throne must be passed on to the eldest child of the prevailing King and Queen at the age of eighteen. If the throne is given to anyone other than the aformentioned child because the parents deem them unsuitable, a war may be started to fight for the throne.

Star's POV

There's so many things happening, everyone is freaking out, it's all flooding my mind. I need some peace and quiet to think. I walk up to the microphone.

"EVERYONE SHUT UP!!" I yelled, and it quieted down. I sighed, "Listen. I've had a rough couple of days, my wand disappeared, and now we have to go to war. I'm supposed to be your leader, I don't want to disappoint you. Could you just stop talking for a second? Thank you."

"...Um, my sweet, sweet Star?" My dad asked.

"Yes?" I asked grumpily.

"I need to tell you one more thing," he said. "The... reason why we need to go to war."

I just stared at him blankly.

"Oh, well, heavens, how do I put this? No way to romanticize it, I guess. Star, Toffee is the rightful heir to the throne."

Wait...

"WHAT??!"

"Toffee was Queen Eclipsa's son. He had the right to the Butterfly throne, and as he never passed away, he has still."

"But he's immortal!"

"That's why we're going to war, dear. We have to fight him for the Kingdom of Mewni," mom said.

I sank to the floor and closed my eyes, trying to control my breathing. Marco stood close behind me, making sure I was okay. I put my hands on the sides of my head to try and calm down. Tears slipped through. Darn it, that's the last thing I wanted. Marco noticed, and hugged me. That was both the last and the first thing I wanted.

"It's gonna be okay, Star. We've got you. We're all here to help." Mom hugged me. "You need some rest. How many nights haven't you slept?"

Ha. Sleep. Fictional. I must've looked terrible. Dark bags hanging under my red eyes, messy hair. I was stumbling and felt dizzy.

"You need to get a good night's sleep. The council and I will discuss strategies. Everyone that would like to participate may join us."

Alfonzo, Ferguson, and little Fergie joined.

"I'll take Star to her room," Marco told my mom, and she nodded.

Third person's POV

The lock fell to the ground, and for a moment, Pony thought they were going to get caught escaping.

"This way, don't make a sound," miss Heinous said, leading them through the dark hallway. The former prisoners all had a bad feeling about her intentions. But she did as she'd promised. They got out without any complications. Outside, however, a surprise had been awaiting them.

"Oh, my gosh, KELLY??" Pony Head exclaimed, and Miss Heinous told her to be quiet. So she proceeded whispering, "What are you even like doing here?"

Kelly looked around. "Sorry. Can't tell you here. Too risky. Follow me."

They all went into the forest, deeper and deeper. Pony was starting to get a little scared, but she didn't let it show. Or at least she tried.

"Where exactly are we going?" Angie asked.

"Just a hidden shelter for members of our rebellion," Kelly said.

"Against Toffee or against the Butterfly family?"

"We long fo peace between Mewmans and monsters. We long for both species to be considered as equals, how it should be," Miss Heinous said. Fair point.

"But you're mean!" Pony tried to argue.

"That was no more than my cover. I had no desire to seem suspicious," she said. "But if you tell anyone about this, I will rip out your intestines, understood?"

"Understood..."
