Chapter 21

Nico's POV

3 MONTHS LATER

I walk into the hospital where the nurse greets me by name because I'm here almost every day. Thalia still hasn't woken up but we are not just going to unplug her. She will wake up I know it.

Since the accident few people have visited. Percy and Annabeth came with Grover a couple days but stopped after a while. Hazel came with Frank mostly to check up on me and how I was doing. To be honest I was depressed. Jason was one of the few who comes here almost every day to visit. I mean I get it she's his sister and all. Occasionally he brings Piper but not always. Connor hasn't been here once.

Most days I sit and watch tv while holding her hand but today the room was locked. The nurse said she had a visited who requested no one else to bother her during the time. The nurse wouldn't even let me look through the window to see who it is.

Eventually the person is done and I am shocked to see Artemis.

"Hello Nico. May we talk?"

"About what?"

"Thalia of course. I want to know how it came to be that she hated you so much she stabbed herself."

"If you're saying it's my fault then you're wrong. It was Connors fault he's the one who kissed her and made me doubt that she loved me. After we broke up I kept my distance and so did everyone else. She must have gotten depressed and gone suicidal. Had I not been near her when it happened she would have died."

"She would have died. And what do you call this exactly."

"She will wake up I know she will. You know her she's a fighter. She will wake up."

"It's so great you have so much confidence in something so tragic like this."

"You almost sound happy this happened."

"Of course I'm happy. I never wanted her to leave the hunt. I knew where Connor was all along. I didn't think you would find him but you did. Then she left the hunt and went off with you. I had to stop it so I had Connor pretend he loved her and make her fall for him. Obviously it worked based on your story so all my work paid off."

"Why don't you like me. You went through all this trouble Thalia is almost dead just so you could get revenge on me for something I don't even know what."

"I trusted a son of hades one time Connors father. He left me when Connor was born and that is why I am now a hunter and have no more kids and why I hate all sons of Hades. Thalia is one of my best hunters and I don't want her to be with you. You'll do the same thing he did to me."

"Not all of us are like that. I even cried the other day which is something you rarely see. You may not think this but I love her and would never leave her ever."

"Well too late now. She's most likely never going to wake up. Better to let her die then let her be with you."

"You are vile and cruel. You care about no one but yourself."

"I find that a good quality. If you'll excuse me I must leave."
