2. Confrontation

Man oh man, im beat. The week ran off and I had hockey practice everyday. CA doesn't have a football team because "it brings about too many negative images" we all know they talking about lesbians.

I haven't confronted Roxanna nor Rj on this matter. I needed some time. I was in my room Friday night studying for the biggest exam every Caribbean student has to take. I took my time going through old notes from the different subjects that im taking.

I opened the book for Office Admin but I couldn't stay focused on the words so I took out my phone and I dialed up Cris.

"Heyo honey bun" Cris answered the phone. 

I groaned at that nickname she always used.

"Did you know?" I asked

"Yeah man.. I knew since last week that the IT SBA is due on Monday"

"Man stop playing, I already KNOW that! I told you." I was getting edgy

"Oh shoot, totes forgot" I could imagine her grabbing her dreads. I sighed

"What you talking bout Jay?" Cris asked me.

"Did you know that Roxanna is cheating on me?"

I heard the phone fall and some commotion in the background. Oh god, please dont be cheating with Crystal.

"I knew it, nigga am gonna beat her ass black and blue! Shit.. how man? Why man? I mean I heard from KrisAnn that she was flirting with Mr Marcomb and shit but you can't believe shit that she says!"

"The math teacher?"

"Yeah man"

"Shit. Gotta go my moms coming bye."

I heard her footsteps from down the hall. She knocked on my brothers' door then came to mine.

"DINNERS READY BIG HEAD"

I laughed and ran after her. We all got our meals and sat at the table. My dad left when my baby brother Darian was born. He said he hated the responsibility and claimed that Darian wasn't his and that I was a mistake . Dre was the eldest and he was finishing his last year of 6th form and would be going off to board at university. 

We started talking about our week and how mom just got a promotion at the printery that she worked at.

"Jay you could get a job at a call centre over the summer to get some extra money" my mom said. And I was down with that.

She asked about my studies and school.  She brought up Crystal saying that she respects her mom becuase Crystal is a real tomboy and she could never deal with that blah blah blah.

"How's Roxanna?" My mom asked.

"They ain't talking anymore" Dre shouted and I was about ready to knock his lights out.

My mom started stringing me up with questions. I told her she wasn't a real one and that we just stopped dealing, which was a lie because im a whimp and im afraid to talk to her about the rumours.

"With friends like these, who needs enemies" I can't believe mom was saying that about me! Ive been loyal as hell turning down all those dimes that came at me for Rox becuase I think I might just love her man.

"So what about Crystal? You wouldn't date her?" My mom asked. I stared at her wide eyed.

Dre ate her ass up, "mom why are you like so bipolar, one minute you hate Cris and the next your setting her up with Jaydena. Chill af mom"

"What does af mean?" Darian decided to ask.

"Nothing" we all said and laughed.

"I just think Crystal is cute and she's been a good friend" mom says defending herself.

"Oh my gawd, mom is gaaaayyeeee" Dre busted out.

"DONT YOU DARE SAY THAT YOUNG MAN. I WILL KNOCK YOU OUT COLD AND DEAD. I BROUGHT YOU IN THIS WORLD AND I CAN TAKE YOU OUT" mom shouted while throwing her slippers at Dre.

Darian sat laughing and I just got up and took my dish to the sink to wash it.
I started thinking about Rox and how I would approach her. Maybe I should just break it off? I dont know man, im just a little confused right now but I've got to keep my head clear because I got exams coming up.
