Inside the police department lobby are the bomb experts, who were running towards Mr. Miller, and Detective Stone's direction. The bomb squad leader helped Detective Stone to get back on his knees, while the other three grabbed Mr. Miller. "Are you ok detective?" The bomb squad leader asked.
"Yes, I am fine, thank you." Detective Stone replied, politely and breathes very deep.
"How's Miller?" He asked.
"Don't worry sir; we will take care of him." The squad leader replied.
On the corner of the lobby, the bomb squad is slowly removing the vest from Mr. Miller's body. However, Detective Stone saw Mr. Miller that he is not happy about it. Mr. Miller's face became too gloomy, and Detective Stone can see through his eyes, that there is something he is not telling them.
Detective Stone walked towards Mr. Miller. "Sir, can you please tell us what you know?" Detective Stone asked.
"I can't, he will kill my daughter..." Mr. Miller replied. He stared Detective Stone in the eyes, and then he rushed towards him like he wanted to attack the detective. "He will kill her because of you! He will kill my daughter! He will kill my daughter..." Mr. Miller said frustrated and crying.
"I want to help you! I am sure your daughter is not yet dead, but if you will not tell us everything, it's like killing your own daughter!" Detective Stone replied.
Mr. Miller looked down and decided to spill out what he knows about the killer, "his name is Clowny Jones, that's what he told me. He is hiding under the basement of an old church 10 blocks away from this building." Mr. Miller turned his face to Detective Jones crying. "Please save my daughter! Please help me! Please I am begging you." Mr. Miller begged Detective Jones to rescue his daughter.
Detective Stone borrowed a radio from the bomb squad leader, "Can I use your radio for a minute?" He asked.
"Here Detective" the bomb squad leader replied, and then handed Detective Jones his radio.
"Sarah, assemble the special operations unit, I know where to find our killer. By the way, tell the paramedics to follow, we are going to rescue Mr. Miller's daughter." Detective Stone said on the radio.
"Copy that!" Detective Sarah answered from the radio.
"Mr. Miller, what is the name of your daughter?" Detective Stone asked.
"Her name is Tatyana, please hurry, we don't have much time." Mr. Miller replied.
Detective Stone went outside and run towards his car parked at the side of the street. He pressed the remote control of the locks of the car's door and immediately went inside. He moved the radio he is holding closely to his mouth and contacted Sarah. "Old church, 10 blocks away from this building, I will go now, just follow me ASAP!" He said, in a hurry.
Detective Stone started the engine of his car and stepped on the gas pedal hard, like he was part of a racing event. In just 10 seconds, his car speed reached 150mph that can be seen in the speedometer of the car's dashboard.
Every second counts, because Clowny Jones might kill Tatyana anytime soon. Detective Stone beats every red light crossing, just to reach the old church in time. He was rushing like it will be his last.
Four minutes behind are Detective Sarah and the spec-ops team, rushing towards their vehicles, and at their back are two ambulances just in case something bad happens.
Detective Stone finally reached the old church. He parked his car at the side of the street, went out from his car, and rushed towards the church's door.
"Damn it! The doors are locked!" He uttered, angry and stressed.
Detective Stone saw an alley at the side of the old church, he run towards it and saw an old wooden door at the side. He grabbed his gun from his holster and reached for the wooden door's knob. Luckily, it was not locked. Detective Stone went in and searched the inside of the old church for a door that can lead him at the basement.
It was too dark inside, that is why Detective Stone is having a hard time finding a secret door going to the basement. The entire old wooden benches inside the church were scattered everywhere. Even some figurine of holy people and saints were left destroyed and piled up on each corner. Big crosses and musical instruments were scattered on the floor making it hard for Detective Stone too move around.
Detective Stone is very careful not to make any noise, because if he does, it will be Tatyana's end.
He moved slowly towards the back of the altar. While in there, he noticed that the floor he was stepping into is making a sound like a wood; whereas the other parts of the church's floor don't sound one, because it's made of marbles.
Detective Stone became curious and lift the carpet that is covering the wooden floor. Much to his surprise, he saw another door at the floor. "This must be it!" He told himself.
Detective Stone slowly and carefully opened the wooden door on the floor. After he opened it, he saw a spiral staircase made of stone going down the basement; he stepped into it and went down slowly pointing his gun forward.
The smell was terrible; it was like a smell of an old sewer that has not been cleaned for centuries. The walls are a bit slimy and the floor is slightly slippery. Mosquitoes, cockroaches and sewer rats are also running around everywhere.
Detective Stone reached the end of the stairs where he saw some yellow incandescent lights mounted on the wall. He moved further forward, and this time, he heard a scream.
He followed the direction where he heard the scream of a girl. As he moved closely to a small door at the end of the hallway, the scream gets even louder.
He kicked the small door, and saw a naked girl on top of a butcher's table and a man wearing a clown mask standing right beside her. The man is holding a baseball bat with barbed wire placed in the middle of the girls two legs; ready to swoop into the girls flesh anytime.
He quickly fired two shots at the man and took him down immediately. He hit the guy right exactly at the heart. No man can survive a gunshot wound from a caliber 45 pistol with a rose bullet. But much to Detective Stones surprise, the clowned mask man a.k.a. Clowny Jones stood up and vanished into thin air laughing diabolically.
Detective Jones can't believe of what he just witnessed. It's already beyond his skills and understanding. He was also shocked of the creature's appearance; it was exactly the same "perfect criminal" in his book's final chapter.
Still can't believe of what just happened Detective Jones removed his coat and walk towards Tatyana. He covered Tatyana's naked body and released her from being tied in the butcher's table.
Detective Stone searched the ground for some blood, so that he can take it to the CSI laboratory for examination, however, he didn't find anything but black like inks spilled on the ground.
"Sir, There's a bomb inside my chest." Tatyana uttered, breathing heavily.
Detective Stone picked up the scalpel on top of the medical table, and tell Tatyana to relax, but just before he pointed the scalpel to Tatyana's chest; Detective Sarah and her team came to rescue.
