Solomon Stone: Beyond

Chapter 24

Solomon woke up from a very deep sleep. He stood up from the bed and moved towards the changing windows. He shifted the view from forest to woods, and then breathes deep "Refreshing" he told himself.

He walked towards one corner of the room, wherein a small coffee table set was placed. He sat down, and closed his eyes for a moment.

After several minutes, Sarah also woke up from the deep sleep and interrupted Solomon's concentration. "Good morning!" She greeted.

"Good morning Sarah, how's your sleep?"

"Very good, in fact, I feel so strong today like I can do anything."

"Strange, I feel so strong too..."

Solomon stood up from the coffee table and walked towards the kitchen "I'm starving, is there something I can eat here?"

"Yes, I bought some bread that I took from the mansion's kitchen"

Sarah walked closely to Solomon in the small kitchen, and then, she opened the bag of bread that is on top of the small dining table.

Solomon took three breads, and ate all of it, like he hasn't eaten for days. If there's another thing that changed about Solomon, is that, it is his appetite.

Since he regained consciousness few days ago, he became a voracious eater. He eats a lot like he's a piranha, always hungry for food.

Loud door knocks has been heard from the other side. Sarah move towards the door, and opened it. She saw Jerry standing outside in a cool black outfit, the same clothes he is wearing when he attacked Solomon outside the mansion.

"Jerry, what brings you here?"

"Have you forgotten that this is the start of the physical training?" Jerry asked "10 minutes, in the library" he added hurriedly.

Solomon and Sarah quickly went outside the room, and rushed their way towards the library. After reaching the library, they saw Jerry standing in the middle, in front of three portals.

"Today is the start of your formal training" Jerry said, like he's a different person, from being a nice butler to a serious and intimidating teacher.

Solomon and Sarah walked closer to Jerry, like grade school students that are very eager to learn.

"Sarah, please enter the third portal, it will lead you to another part of the library wherein you can learn some things that can help Solomon defeat the demon. That library is for humans, because before, humans and mystical beings like us worked together. You can find any information that you will need there, to assist Solomon. Go now, we don't have much time." Jerry said.

"Ok, see you soon guys!" Before entering the third portal completely, Sarah moved a little bit closer to Solomon and kissed him to the lips. "Good luck!" She said, and then she entered the third portal without having a second thought. She trusts Jerry so much, that she knew Jerry will not do anything that will harm her. Another thing is that, she's very eager to help Solomon, and end the demon once and for all.

"As for you Solomon..." Jerry faced Solomon, held his right arm, and then suddenly, he threw Solomon inside the middle portal. Jerry is now starting to be harsh to Solomon. He can't help it, in his heart; he does not want to be this bad to Solomon. But what can he do? Solomon needs to be prepared on anything, and he must train Solomon in a very short period of time.

Solomon propelled inside the portal like he has been hit by a bullet train. He landed on a dessert like place, full of wooden life sized marionettes.

Jerry came out of the portal as well and walk towards Solomon. He handed Solomon a short katana, with a double edge black blade. "Take that, and stand up!" He said in an authoritative tone.

Solomon goes up from the ground and stood beside Jerry "What now?"

"Hold the katana firmly Solomon, and since you have martial arts training, specifically kali, I'm sure you can use that katana well. I want you to attack those wooden marionettes" Jerry said.

"Oh! I'm scared! Wooden marionettes... They are very dangerous, they could kill me!" Solomon said sarcastically.

"Hmmm... Ok then, the training starts now!"

Solomon was surprised after seeing the marionettes suddenly moved. Each of the marionettes is carrying a blunt sword; they will use it as a weapon to attack Solomon. It may be a blunt weapon, but it could harm and hurt really bad if he will not be careful.

Jerry suddenly disappeared from Solomon's side, and then suddenly, five marionettes rushed towards him and started to attack.

The marionettes were unexpectedly brutal. Each of their strike was strong, like they were masters in the art of melee weapons.

Solomon felt every strike of the marionettes that he blocked, and it was not something to be taken for granted. Unfortunately, He failed to block one of the attacks, and then a very grueling pain from his left arm made him move few steps backwards.

"Concentrate Solomon, you have the ability to dash and teleport like your parents, use that to defeat the marionettes." Jerry said, from a far.

Solomon tried to do what Jerry told him, but with no luck, he can't activate his abilities.

The marionettes continued to attack Solomon. After several minutes of brutal fighting, he managed to defeat the five marionettes without even using magic powers; however, he's badly injured.

Jerry did not like the result of the first wave. He need to bring out Solomon's ability to dash and teleport in the battlefield, that is why, he summoned twenty marionettes with higher skill level than the first wave. "Are you kidding me?" Solomon said, tired and in pain.

Solomon didn't notice that he's been fighting the twenty marionettes for almost four weeks now in human time. He's now very week, and badly needed medical attention. Jerry teleported beside Solomon to take him out of the physical training dimension, however, Solomon forbid him.

Solomon's spirit keeps him going, something Jerry did not expect from Solomon. With a warrior's heart, suddenly, Solomon's katana lit up in blue flame unexpectedly. Jerry was surprised and at the same time very happy. He did not teach Solomon that kind of magic, it just came out naturally.

Jerry stood beside Solomon to witness clearly what will happen next.

Determined and focused to destroy all the marionettes, and end the training. Solomon suddenly dashed towards to one of the marionettes that were thirty meters away from them, within a matter of a second.

He slashed the marionette in half using his katana engulfed in blue flame. Unexpectedly, Solomon did the impossible. He managed to do the teleportation skill, and then teleported back and forth killing each of the remaining marionettes with just one blow each.

All of the marionettes were destroyed and shattered to pieces. He teleported back beside Jerry and then smiled to his mentor "I did it Jerry, I did it!" He said, and then suddenly, he passed out.

Jerry opened the portal leading to the library, andcarried Solomon in their room, wherein Sarah is waiting. He put Solomon on topof the bed "Let him rest, he did good!" and then left.
