Delicious foods are served at the dining room of the Stone's Mansion. Roast beef, roast chicken, Salisbury steak drenched in special gravy made by the mansion's chef, fresh fruits, mixed vegetables and salad are placed on top of an elegant long wooden dining table. A feast especially prepared for Solomon.
Wearing a red beautiful dress, Detective Sarah caught the attention not only of the mansion's staffs, but as well as his partner Detective Stone, while stepping down the staircase of the mansion. "You're so gorgeous tonight" He said, staring Sarah from head to toe.
"Thank you, I never thought you would say that" She replied with a beautiful smile, flattered of what his partner just told him. It's unusual of Solomon Stone to notice and appreciate a woman's beauty, which is why she's very happy at that moment.
The two detectives walked towards the dining area, wherein, they saw Detective Lynch waiting for them, sitting on the master's chair at the very bottom of the dining table.
The kitchen and dining staffs, as well as Jerry the butler, are standing on the side, patiently waiting for any order Detective Lynch may ask.
As expected of Solomon's gentleman attitude, he pulled a chair for Detective Sarah and let her sit first before himself.
The dining room is very quiet, it seems that no one wants to talk first, not even a whisper can be heard. Deafening silence encompassed the huge dining room, like a messy scene is going to happen any moment.
Annoyed of the situation, Detective Sarah secretly kicked his partner's left foot under the table, and then she glared at him like his going to strangle him.
The sharp pain Detective Stone felt from his partner's kick made him frowned. "Aww! What the fuck?" He said, whispering to Detective Sarah.
"Detective Lynch, Sir?"
"Yes Sarah, What can I do for you?"
"Solomon has something to say to you" She glared again at his partner, while smiling like an evil horse ready to kick him again. "Am I right Detective Solomon Stone?" she said, irritated.
"Ah... I... ah..." Solomon uttered, like he's out of words.
"What? Swallowed your tongue?" Detective Lynch said.
"Fi-first, I-I am ve-very sorry for what I did" Solomon said stuttering, like a child very intimidated of his father.
Surprisingly, his father did not scold him, nor utter even a single bad word. It's very unusual of him to act kind, when everyone knows that he's a bad mouth to everyone. "Apology accepted." He replied, like he's a different man.
All the staffs inside the dining room, including Solomon made an eye contact with each other. They are puzzled and dumbfounded, of the peculiar attitude Detective Lynch showed them.
"Father? Are you?" Just before he finished his question, his father immediately cut him and pointed his index finger to him.
"Don't you dare say a word!" He said, like saying not to spoil the moment.
"Sorry father" he replied politely and cleared throat.
"So... What brings you home?" Detective Lynch asked, like he's very interested of what his son will tell him.
Anxiety suddenly strikes Detective Solomon Stone, he have no guts to tell his father that there is a case he can't solve. He knew well that his father's expectation is very high, and might get disappointed to him. However, there's no time, and there's no other way.
With all might and full determination, Solomon told his father the truth. "Father, I am sorry, I studied all your ways, I followed your steps, I did everything that you taught me, however, there's this specific case I can't solve." He said.
Detective Lynch cleared his throat, and then suddenly ordered all the people in the dining area to leave, except for, Sarah, Solomon and Jerry. "Please leave us"
After everyone left the dining room, Jerry immediately closed all the doors and windows, like a top secret meeting is going to happen.
