Its 7:00 in the morning and Detective Stone is getting ready to visit his father; Detective Lynch. "Do I really need to do this?" He asked himself, while putting his clothes inside his travel backpack.
Detective Stone walked towards a metal cabinet located at the side of his closet, and opened it up. He picked his favorite 45 caliber pistol from the inside of the metal cabinet, and threw it on top of his bed. He also picked up 3 fully loaded magazines of rose bullet and threw it also on top of his bed. Last but not the least; he also took with him his favorite carambit knives, and put it inside his secret pocket that is mounted at the back of his tendon of Achilles.
Detective Stone closed the metal cabinet, walked back towards the bed, and sat for a minute. "I hope he can forgive me now." He said to himself while putting the gun and the magazines inside his travel backpack.
Detective Stone heard a beep coming from a small table at the side of his bed. He turned around and saw his cellphone screen lit up. He stood up and moved towards the other side of the bed, where his cellphone is located. He picked it up and saw a message alert from Detective Sarah.
"Where are you?" Detective Sarah asked him in the form of a text message.
After he saw the message of Detective Sarah; Detective Stone quickly took his bag on top of the bed, and carried it to his shoulders. He went outside his room, locked the door and rushed towards the parking lot of his house. He pressed the unlock button of the remote control of his car and he quickly went inside. He started the engine, stepped on the gas pedal and drove off.
Detectives Stone and Sarah meet each other inside a small grocery store, at the side of the street, just before the freeway's entrance. "Are you ready?" Detective Sarah asked, politely.
Detective Stone seems anxious and stressed; however, they need to do this, and he also thought that this is the perfect time to reconcile with his father. "Yeah, I'm ready, I need to do this." Detective Stone replied, anxious.
"Are you sure? If you're just forcing yourself because of our deal, you can still back out. I hate seeing you like this." Detective Sarah said, worried.
"No! We will go right now! That's my decision; it's not about you or me anymore. It's about the people who will become future victims of this thing!" Detective Stone said, determined.
"Ok... It's your call." Detective Sarah said, very impressed. This was the first time Detective Solomon Stone will try to solve a problem not for his name, not for fame, not for awards, not for prestige and not even for the reward money. He will solve the case for the people, and for the innocent souls that was lost from the previous horrendous unsolved crimes. He wanted to catch the criminal and end him for good, no matter what kind of creature he is, and no matter what the cost.
Detective Sarah saw the sincerity, determination and hunger for justice in the eyes of Detective Solomon. Never in their lifetime, had she seen her partner put a lot of focus, passion and energy to solve a case, until this very moment.
Detectives Stone and Sarah finished their conversation and quickly walked out of the grocery store. Once outside, the two detectives quickly moved towards the car and went inside. Detective Stone started the engine, stepped on the gas pedal and drove inside the freeway, travelling with the speed of 90 miles per hour.
From the entrance of the freeway up to the Stone's mansion, Detectives Stone and Sarah nearly took 3 travel hours just to reach their destination. It was a 200 kilometer drive non-stop, and Detective Stone was very tired. "I need to rest." Detective Stone said, while parking inside the Stone's mansion.
