"Another man has been found dead today. The police believe that the reason behind it may have been due to a gang-related crime. Sources say that-" I quickly turned off my tv with a loud sigh. Blowing some hair out of my face I grumble, "Stupid Ethan Nakamura. He's been all over the news today."
Though I had to admit, this one had been really sloppy. The police were able to put two and two together and realized Ethan was in a gang. Not my best work honestly.
DING DONG!
Grumbling, I got up and headed to the door. Blue eyes greeted me as soon as I swung the door open. "Pipes."
"Jace."
I raised an eyebrow and noticed how soaked he was. Grabbing him by the collar, I pulled him in and shut the door behind me with my foot. He seemed taken aback by my sudden action but I simply chose to ignore it. As I looked around the closet for a towel I asked, "So what brings you here, Grace?" I tossed the towel behind myself.
With a chuckle, the blond caught it and replied back, "I can't see my girl?"
My eyes narrowed but I didn't dare let it show the bitter feeling boiling up inside. "Oh, so that's what I am now? Your girl? Jason Grace, you just love to put labels on everything. You think it's going to keep you in charge. And god forbid you're not in charge, right?"
His eyes were burning holes through the back of my head. I remained calm and collected though and turned to face him, leaning against the wall.
"Piper, the hell is that supposed to mean?" The blond growled as he wiped himself dry. I sighed and shrugged. Forcing myself to look like his words hadn't affected me at all was difficult. But he was the one who had said it in the beginning of our 'deal'.
My breath hitched as he planted kisses down my neck. I gasped when his teeth began to add pressure to my skin. How could such a small act intoxicate me so powerfully?
Shaky fingers ran through blond hair as I tried to keep myself composed. His lips only went lower down my body, and I couldn't hold back his name from rolling off my tongue. I felt his lips curl into a smirk. He looked back up at me and said, "Oh, and Piper? This is all just for fun. No strings attached. Got it?"
At the time I didn't think those words would matter. It was just some meaningless fling, right? I told myself I would never fall in love with someone who only wanted my body. A smirk played on my lips as I whispered back to him, "Darlin', there were no strings in the first place."
I rolled my eyes with exasperation as his hair leaked droplets onto the floor. "Give me that." I snatched the towel and dried his hair myself with it. When the towel was removed from his head I was staring back into blue eyes. "Are you here because you want sex?" I blurted with no second thought. He seemed to be at a loss for words once again. I didn't wait for him. "Because I'm not really in the mood right now."
"I came to see you."
"Me or my body?"
Those words hung in the air for a moment before he suddenly connected his lips to mine. He kissed me with a sense of passion. This was our first kiss that wasn't needy. One that wasn't filled with lust. "Jace," I whispered against his lips.
"I freakin' love you, McLean."
I suddenly grabbed his collar and dragged him back down so our lips could remeet. Well, that only took a year to say.
So worth it though.

A/N: Okay sue me I know this isn't Annabeth and Percy but I really just needed a filler chapter so the book isn't entirely intense. I tried to update more frequently but I've been having relationship drama myself sO. Plus I've been busy watching Riverdale whoops. But comment & vote, please.
