"The concert is in two weeks time and you stand there to tell me that your not done scouring smile by Tasha cobbs???"brother josh muttered while giving vikky the you deserve a slap stare.
Apparently we were at church on a saturday evening for our usual choir rehearsals, brother josh's demonstration of anger caused me to quickly flip the pages of my choir note searching for the song I was asked to scour for the concert,it was overcome by Hillsong,
"and you"screamed brother Josh who happens to be our choir director,as his face flew to my direction and his eyes locked with mine"yes" I managed to utter,
"Hope your done scouring the song I gave you?"I slowly nod towards my left and then to my right
"Rachel are you okay?"shoots my eardrum hard and I shieverly say
"I am okay and I did scour the song"
that gets my heart beating so fast that I don't even hear him tell me to come sing it, untill Vikky repeats his words into my ear.
I jumped up like I had accidentaly sat on a pin only that I didn't scream out of pain,making my way to the middle of the choristers close to where brother Josh stood I tried to catch my breath and stop shievering as I starred at the faces of the chorister.

bro josh murmured, while they did that I began to prepare for the key to be used, in other to get a balance with them, then I sang and when I finished I got a pat on the back for a job weldone.the reheasals went on for three hours untill my hungry stomach began to growl .

It was a beautiful friday afternoon,mum and dad were at work,Kate was at school and I was home alone drinking my cold hollandia yoghurt strawberry flavour with some short bread biscuit while watching a movie on african magic "haaa"I sighed peacefully because of the absence of my supposed family members,it was peace indeed.
As I placed my legs on the centre glass stool in the living room,I heard the horning of a car,immediately my peace disappeared,and I rush to the curtains to see who had come back and stolen my sweet peace,I saw the 2016 model of a black range rover driving into the compound, after the driver had parked properly .the door opened and a dark complexioned guy about 5.8 inch tall putting on a white shirt above a black trouser on black shoes stepped out of the driver's sit and turned around to the passenger's sit to open the door for a young lady to step out."guess who?" It was kate.
I close the curtains immediately and go back to my position on the sofa,what manner of love, oh well I pray he never stops opening the door for her even after five years of their marriage, amen.
The door slammed open and they both run in playfully,I fix my eyes on the screen like no one had entered the house,and there she goes
"Rachel"
kate called,smilling shipishly and walking towards me like that's what she does everyday when she comes back from school.

raising my head up and locking my eyes with her eyes.
"Won't you say hello to jake?"my eye balls go inside my socket a little bit cause I shrink them as I turned to look at the so called fiance of kate and

he smiled and waved at me."are you happy now?"
I say to kate.she Ignored me, walked away from my face towards her fiance and pulled him towards the dinning room.

I turned to see them laughing and talking so loud that I can't hear my movie anymore.annoyed by their childish noise I picked up my empty glass off the table fold the biscuit wrap in my hand and take it to the kitchen.
I grew tired of their endless giggling, even as I sat in the kitchen,it was just so unbearable, were they the first couples to court? My peace was just snatched away from me, I walked out of the kitchen taking some chocolates along with me to the garden,I sat on a glass chair and began to tear the snickers pack off the body of the chocolate and before I could take a bite out of it, my phone suddenly rings,looking down on my lap I saw the caller's name"vikky"I smiled and picked it up.
"Could this be something Rachel Jack?"
vikky asked on the phone
"nope, your speaking to Boma Ayanate Karibitonye"
I responded,her loud laughter affected my eardrum.
" hush vikki hush I don't want to see an ear doctor soon"
her laughter increased,gradually she stopped
"sorry o aunty Boma and the rest of your name I only wanted to tell you that Jamb result is out,my brother just got his,go get yours."
It felt like the whole world freezed for a bit,my heart kept pounding faster and faster,like oxygen had been expelled from the world,I could not feel life anymore,like my spirit had left my body.It was heart threatening and really scarey
"Rachel Rachel Rachelllllllllll"
vikky screamed
"yes"
I whisper.
"hope your okay?"vikky asked
"No am not okay,am doomed"
I cried,immediately I put my phone down and switched it off.
"Earth, is it just me or does this day keep getting worse, just when I try to have some quiet time to my self and smile and get happy something steals the moment away from me."
I didn't even realize that my chocolate had fallen of my hands to the ground,and based on some obvious reasons suddenly I lost appetite for my chocolate.I could only think of what penalty, what consequence, what torture, what pain would blow my mind.
"Urghh!!" I groaned.
"Rachel Rachel"kate called
"yes" I whispered
..."All is not well, mum needs you at the living room right now" kate yelled from a distance.
"Could it be? Oh no.has mum already gotten my result? Is it that bad? Are they going to give me away for adoption?or are they going to strangle me with their bare hands?God please help.
